Seems like someone is releasing a new bank for Dune almost every day..........ttoz wrote:but i want it to have more BANK attention!!
Dune is so amazing, why not more attention like sylenth? simply the BEST VA bang for buck vs CPU

I like smooth too, but some producers asked me specifically for that dirt/rough sound. So In Dune 2 both will be possible.xx JPRacer xx wrote:I'm not a fan of the Virus sound, too harsh. That's why I prefer Dune over Sylenth, "smoother" sound. Both are excellent tough.

Hey Richard,
since you are here, would you give a statement regarding this quotes:

Hi ttoz,
Richard
I'd love to develop a big synth for Reason, whether Dune or something similar to it (CV Inputs, Side-chaining and the overall UI layout will influence the design probably). It's however quite a gamble tbh, not knowing what will happen with it once it's finished. Everything depends on Propellerheads, when it's released, whether or not they promote/feature it etc. This is different from the VST/AU world, where developers have full control.ttoz wrote:I am only praying Rich ports it over to Reason, that will be another "reason" to start moving to that platform permanently.

I don't get that phasing issue here, and I don't recall having heard about it either, so it might be a particular patch. In any case I'll need the patch where this happens to further investigate this issue.cyphersuit wrote:Hey Richard,

The space bar thing is FLStudio-specific I presume? Note that DUNE does not specifically steal spacebar, but it's possible that the keyboard focus is taken in order for the mouse wheel to work.
Note I don't read every thread here, be sure to post any issues on our bug reports forum, so they don't get overlooked.

Well, you can hear this "phasing" issue on this audio demo that JimmiG put up which is why this came up, and you can hear it on my audio demo at 7:35 here:JimmiG wrote:Here's a quick comparison to show what I mean.
For some reason Soundcloud added some rumble/scratching type of sound in the second two sweeps that definitely wasn't there in the .Wav, nor when I converted it to MP3 with WinLame. So just disregard that.
http://soundcloud.com/jimmigruen/sweep
First is Dune, second is Sylenth1 and finally the Virus TI
Listen especially in the beginning (filter open) how different they are. Clearly if I spent more than 1 minute I could make Sylenth1 sound exactly like the Virus. I could probably get close with Dune too, but it seems to take more effort. I'm finding many other uses for Dune though, so it's not "bad", just different.

Listen closely at 7:35. Now listen to that same sound in a couple of seconds, at 7:39. Hear how the attack has completely changed and the stereo width suddenly increases. At first it sounds a little like a 90's dance organ patch (like "you got to show me love" stonebridge kind of thing) but it's the same patch with no change besides a small filter increase.
You can also hear it happen if you listen closely at 5:24 when the lead comes in.
It might be the way Studio-One handles plug-ings because it happens twice, when its the first time I play dune (if it has a large unison setting) in a session since I loaded Studio One and when I bounce down.
So, it might be the Studio One is handling the plug-in, this also happens to me with Largo which I think I mentioned already.
But I can't be the only one as it's in the other audio demo also. I had a number of problems with Largo that others don't seem to experience.
Richard, I will email you this patch as one example. But as it is the only way I can get around this that I know is to trigger this patch while the track is on mute a few times before it's part in the song comes up.
I didn't bring it up really for discussion as such, I just wanted to point out that in that first audio demo DUNE's attack does not normally sound like that.
Regards
Sami

Hi Richard
No, it 's not particular patch. It was my own "supersaw", made on scratch. There is a bug, i'm sure about it. it reminds me old synthedit plugins which made similar thing. The first note bug. That is how i call it and it is related to the unison. I will make video for you once i get home. Just on my way to watch prometheus 3d :p
About spacebar stealing, i know that it is caused by the mousewheel "hook". But if you would code it properly, your plugins dont need to steal that spacebar. Look how your biggest enemy, sylenth, handle that mousehook. It wont steal spacebar

Ok, meanwhile Sami emailed me the patch, and I cannot reproduce the problem here. It neither occurs on live play, nor during rendering (using a note on tick #0). So any additional info would be highly appreciated!keel wrote:That is how i call it and it is related to the unison. I will make video for you once i get home. Tried it but it doesn't seem to support mouse wheel here in any DAW I tried (using the demo version). I don't see it as an enemy btw, we're not at war with anyonekeel wrote:About spacebar stealing, i know that it is caused by the mousewheel "hook". Hi again. The sylenth mousewheel support was added in latest beta, which is couple years old, but hasn't released officially. Don't ask me why, but the mousewheel support is in that beta and it is working fine, without stealing space bar. And about your synths, they don't only steal space bar in FL Studio, that happens in S1 too and IF I remember correctly, it may happen in some version of sonar too.Richard_Synapse wrote:

Okay, here is the video. Needed to make youtube account for this, haha. Middle of the video, I increase voices and everything goes out of tune and messy. I don't know what cause this one, but I'll bet it is my fault? Anyway, if this video isn't bug or something, please let me know and I delete this video right away. Sorry about my bad english and so on. Thanks for your time, Richard.
Ps. Prometheus was good!

Way too much detune. You have FAT turned up and Detune too....and im betting the osc are all free runing. Add that combo to chord playing and you have a mess.
