Just tried stacking inside Ableton Live (see my last post) but just ordered MUX myself. Will try stacking inside MUX too. :)

How? Are you using Mu Tools Mux and call the the result a Mux?
I stacked three of them this week but had to adjust the different units seperately.

I agree, and I am all for free speech so don't let anyone tell you what you can and can't say!

This soft synth sounds really good to me, I already have synplant, z3ta 2, blue, albino 3, korg legacy collection, synth one, tyrell n6, kontakt, microtonic, Rhino, Pg8x, Minimonsta and jp6k.

But even after owning all these I still thought that this new Tal synth adds something to my productions. I have already made a hard trance track using only this synth for all sounds (except drums).

But, I think that the wonky buttons look silly and would like them updated in the future. ;)

You can assign multiple controls to the meta-parameter knobs at the top of the main editor screen, so all your envelopes for instance can be linked.

UPDATE:
Just tried stacking multiple U-NO-LX instances in MUX. This is simply awesome as you could save the result as an own preset!!
This way it'S possible to create a quite complex synth using other VST plugins like e.g. U-NO-LX. Then you could combine it with nternal modules included in MUX.

OK, so it is achieved with Mux. Those meta controls make Mux even more interesting. Is the number of meta parameter controls unlimited?
(sorry to be a little off thread topic)

I think it is currently limited at 16.

Just found a difference of layering presets in Ableton Live only and in MUX. When U-NO-LX presets are layered inside MUX the CPU use seems to be much higher (around 40% more).

Just managed to map the Tune/Detune amount of the U-NO-LX Layer 2 and it's volume to the Macro controls.

UPDATE:
In the MUX preset i added an EQ, Reverb and Delay (all from MUX).

Also tried doing the same using an Instrument rack in Ableton Live 8 (including macro controls). I get almost the same CPU use as in MUX when including external FXs in the rack.

I stacked entire ubermod to one controller in mux so i bet it's unlimited  (all left was one preset, all right was another one and in between it was chaos. And the spirit of Crackbaby thought it was good. Crackbaby divided left from the right.)

In order to get the edit-one-ui-and-the-rest-will-be-edited-too you need to do, although onetime, the tedious task of adding each control from each layered vsti.
If you want to go past the 16 control per mux limit you'll need to make muxes in muxes.

I just finished my three-layer! ..
*time elapsed*

an hour later, and i still cant describe how great sounding this is!!! Maybe now i should add some analog delay and a spring reverb.... :)
TAL (and mulab), you're bloody genius(es)!

Better not fall for temptation and run this through TyrellN6's chorus and ubermod now  It would probably sound like seeing logic in white noise :help:

Yep I'm having great fun with two U-NO's inside a MUX run through ETCH and a delay. Being able to map all the controls, limit the throw of the meta-parameters so the filters do what I want when tweaking them, panning things, it is all so cool, then saving versions of it all off to presets is just wonderful. U-NO is a great synth for use inside a MUX :) Thick and swirly!

i realized that what i thought was a phaser back on an early goatrance track was actually a juno 106/60 with pulsewith modulated by an envelope :D
The best part of this rather common synth is that there's so many tracks of early goa, acid and trance that uses it!
Fanfabulotastic!

+1

I could see having lot's of fun with both U-NO and MUX and both together. :)

Ingonator wrote: I just created an example based on one of my presets. It includes the original version with the Chorus enabled and two other (with "a" and "b" at the preset name) which correspond to two layers which have to be used as two instances:

The Brass sound seems to sound more "natural" (you could also call it "Jupiter like") when using two slightly detuned layers instead of the Chorus. You could check this with this example.
Hi,

here you find the current version of a MUX preset based on the Brass preset above. It includes MUX effects and controls for Detune of both layers (+ Octave select for Layer 2), Dry/wet amounts for the effects and filter settings (for both layers).

Of course you'll need the U-NO-LX plugin to use this. Maybe MUX will also ask for the path of the U-NO-LX plugin on your system.

UPDATE:
Just updated the MUX preset above with a new layout and a few more controls (see screenshot).

Hi,

here is my second MUX preset for U-NO-LX using 4 layers that produce a "Hypersaw/Supersaw" sound. The MUX interface contains Detune controls for the 4 layers and common controls for the filter and the envelope plus controls for the MUX effects.

As MUX uses a single core at the moment (no multicore support) this MUX preset could be very CPU demanding. Of course you need the U-NO-LX plugin to use this.

UPDATE:
For the "traditional" users (without MUX) here are the 4 layers as 4 different U-NO-LX presets:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/53230726/U-No- ... s%20IW.zip

You could add the Delay and Reverb (which i added in the MUX version) yourself, for example the free TAL effects (TAL Dub + TAL Reverb).
