Of course, when I bought my very first bass (BC Rich), I wanted a metallic red one, and all they had was tomato red...

Not my cup of tea, but I can see (just about) why others would like this

RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever.

Eric, Its not that I do not like the Ceramic version but if there is a choice I will always go nico. Main two areas are clean sound and when a high-gain sound is used it has something just not as beefy with a quite prominent high-mid/presence area kind of lick a notch filter peak has been applied. Can you hear what I mean? Even as if a wah has been switched in with a narrow Q and toe down (best way I can describe it)
Or maybe its just me going mad/being mental for a change
John there lives a Duncan Invader in the bridge of one of the old jackson's (one of the special neck variety) that lives up at Paul's now. It sounds killer and is a savage beast of pickup. I would not use it for cleans though
and that jackson is his now pretty much. Obviously there are guitars we have that are not communal. It works well though since it frees up space when either of us needs to sneak more in and make it appear that it has always been there
hibidy did not know about some of those small but awesome brands, They look great but price wise even though yeah no doubt the quality is second to none just :O Bleeding great eye candy/ear candy though. Like you though, I'll stick to what I know
4lb Kitty, Bring the bass lust/wants/needs on as a bass guitar is definately as important and fair game as guitar here, More the merrier, Nix whom is the starter IRRC is a bass guitar player also
re; looks, Non-musicians always seen to like the look of anything beatles-ish like ES-3X5, Anything with a violin 'f' hole plus those bloody horrific violin basses...etc. Meh, they got no taste. I had a Warrick thumb a good while ago and it was abit odd looking but it played great, balance was great when strapped on playing standing and it sounded great also
Best to all as always

Believe me, I'm right there with you, nearly every pickup with a description that fits what I'm looking for ends up being alnico. It's just that when I listen to those Bareknuckles examples, the ceramic versions sound better to me every time.Dean Aka Nekro wrote:Eric, Its not that I do not like the Ceramic version but if there is a choice I will always go nico.

I wouldn't take it even if it were cheap. It's ugly with that bridge.hibidy wrote:Ya ain't getting that kinda coin from me

Well, I think there is a reason it's a 699 premium
But it does have promise.
One of the best looking guitars I've ever seen though, photos will not do it justice (can't take 'em now, too late)
