I got sampletron and sonik synth, both of which I think and realize i will never use. Damn GAS attacks. And damn IK for their constant sales and high priced license transfer fee's!
everything tastes a little better with monkey butter on it.

I buy much less than I used to, simply because the tools I have now are just enough for me to get to where I need, for now.
The things I feel would help in the future are fairly expensive, so all these deals that come buy, I make sure I do a good demo and ask "Do I really need this?" If not, I think to myself, then this $40 or whatever goes towards the Compressor or synth I want...
I'd rather spend a lot of money every now and again on something brilliant than lots of little nothings.
The big things, the Relab LX480, I never bought Valhalla or many other cheaper reverbs, I saved it all for this and It's still the best reverb I've ever used.
Arts Acoustic Compressors cost me a lot, but I've still not found any other compressor that can do what these do for me and I am glad I have them. I passed up some good but cheaper compressors because I really felt these were special.
The one deal I sort of regret passing up was the IK T-racks delux. But I'm doing fine without them and the CLA compressors might be better for me.

Musical stuff for musicians are like Pokemons, Got'em all lol.
I would be happy with a better mastering plugin, a couple of good monitors and a recorder or mic. Shit, my studio is a little crap yet.
Once done, i will focus on music only, i think i will pass about plugins totally... Or i want to believe that, lol.
Have a good day guys

You know you have a problem when you check the Marketplace 3 times a day, every day.

For me it was realizing I had no talent for holding a guitar, mouse, keyboard and midi controllers all at once (randall voice: Jezzzzzzz, what a nightmare! )zerocrossing wrote:For a long while I had serious G.A.S. to me, the virtual instruments and samples G.A.S began 2 or 3 month ago, with Native 50% on some instruments (when I bought Alicia Keys and Pre Bass).
Just remembering the most recent ones, UNO-L-X and Steven Slate Drums. My credit card period ends on 28th, so I'm waiting until 28 or 29 to buy T-rakcs from ikmultimedia. Now I have almost everything from IK, some things pretty useful and another that I don't have really used yet.

Hi, my name's Jon.....and I have GAS
It's 24hrs since my last purchase
I swore the one before would be my last. I even sold a couple of synths a few months back when I thought I had it beat....I managed 3 months abstinence at the start of the year with a New Year's Resolution....but then someone always puts a soundset/synth on the Marketplace for a bargain price that's too tempting, or some damn company does a 50% off summer special
I need help and thanks to this group I think I can control it, if you want me you can find me here:

This year I have only bought Metasynth. It will be my only acquisition in 2012 unless someone offers me a great price on a Tenori-on.

Some years I go I thought that my yearly 1000$ gear aquiring equalled GAS, but then I started this thread for the fun of it.

I tell you that compared to some of these guys (no names, you know who you are) my GAS rather looks like a broken nail than a serious disease. I am an amateur, thank God

Same for me I only buy what I think are both the best instruments/effects in each category AND the ones that I need. ( Though I'm under the impression that in the end I'd need everything of the best, just "in case"Aiynzahev wrote:I buy much less than I used to, simply because the tools I have now are just enough for me to get to where I need, for now.

Best is not necessarily the most pricey, or it can be even free in some rare cases, but sometimes it just is.
I also like "limited" units, but with a special twist, special color, special unique something.
So I might conclude that I'm really suffering of the GAS, but ...... I fully enjoy it.
