Guess what's really really funny....?!
Not something i usually do as it leads to the dark side etc, I hit the random option a couple of times thinking i would get a cool delay.
Instead i got something that just made my synth sound ... so goood...! I've tried it on drums as well, same result.
Ill bring the secret with me to my grave ..! muahaha muahahaha mmuahahahhaahhaha

How do you do all this?deastman wrote:I was waiting all weekend for a free moment to try out the demo. I honestly didn't think I was going to be that impressed, but after five minutes with the demo, I was pulling out my credit card!
I had noticed the terminal window in the promo video, and wanted to check that out. I came to this thread looking for the username and password, expecting the whole thing to just be a silly little easter egg.
If I'm understanding this correctly, the entire plugin is actually the front end of an emulation of an 8 bit computer, complete with its own OS?!?My mind is officially blown! And it comes with SAM, my favorite speech synth of all time from back in the Apple ][ days?!? And a copy of Adventure? And you can load in different firmware to get different front panel functions? And you can disassemble, code, and recompile your own mods? This is absolutely amazing!
If I didn't need to get up and go to work in a few hours, I'd spend all night playing around in the terminal window. As it stands now, I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow night. Doh!

As I'm quite intrigued by Permut8, I'm even more intrigued by your post.Crackbaby wrote:Guess what's really really funny....?!

I've demoed it, I like what I hear but don't know if I really "need" it.
So, I don't ask you to reveal your secret settings, but can you give us a lil clue of what you randomly came up with ? A great feedback saturation ? Some weird reverb/delay ? A mad buffer overdrive effect ? thx !

It's a not too subtle warmerizer using random numbers of the multiplier and ... can you tell i don't have my host running?
I have to get back to you! Running late

Is anyone using this with SONAR? If so - have you got the MIDI control to work?

enter user and password as prompted
you'll now have a command-line
type DIR to see the list of files
some like adventure are built-in command-line programs and you can RUN them
some like linsub and ringmod are alternative audio firmwares. you need to use PATCH to load them.

See if you can copy paste that. I just think things sound very good in it. Is it the AND or the MSK, is it the highpass(!) or the clock freq? Maybe some phasing.. who knows? You?! Tell me!!
The effect is only when wet is around 50% so probably some phasing going on. Sounds thin full left and right.

Would i be rude to request "Randomize program" to be on front as a button?
Midi assignable would be cool too!! Run an arp with midi cc to it
Would make sendy's beat sound normal! Sendy, your stuff is absolutely amazing. Awesome tracks with great grooves and atmosphere. I listened through your entire soundcloud. Thanks for great music, my ears are happy!

For the record, using it in mux and adding an lfo to the clock freq can make such awesome flanger/phasers...!!!!

REVERSE! lol!
Pretty wicked temposynced!

edit
h*l* sh*t. It's not often i back out when the noise starts to mess with my head .. but this was just too wicked. Etch going in rob papens delay going in valhalla room going in a reversemodulated permut8 ..... I know my brain was screwed before, but this just loosened the bolts completely.

Thanks Crackbaby for sharing your settings. Nice patch !
In my humble opinion, it's the feedback which does most of the job here.
I got some very similar results back when I was using Reason, with Thor's delay and filter. Very short delay with loads of feedback yet very very low dry/wet ratio can fatten up any sound, just set the dry/wet to taste. Add some slight modulation to that feedback process (like an LFO subtly randomizing the delay time or the feedback amount) and you'll get some extra grit and life too. The HP removes the excessive and unwanted low end that the feedback adds.
It can indeed do wonders to any synth or drums.

You're very welcome !
I can be wrong but what I've heard in your patch sounds quite similar to what I described. So that might be it
