Rule number one about the Reaper Beta-release club..

I really always overlooked that.. I mean.. who normally looks at the headers on a directory listing? It typically has nothing of value..

In any regards if Reaperians are upset.. just PM me or a mod and it will be resolved. Probably a mod would be best though. Otherwise it isn't worth trying to form into a dramafest just to watch people jump.

They do not communicate with users any more than any other developers and in reality if you do check the forum you will see that they do not implement features that are asked for, but features they feel like doing.

Reaper is a great budget DAW but lets not be mistaken here, it has more long standing issues and feature requests than any other DAW around

The developers at Reaper have created a little bubble of fantasy around themselves that has allowed them to do what they want for a long time, unfortunately long time users are now starting to see through this and calling them out on it, it is time Justin and co started adding valuable features and not just line after line after line of nothing to fill out a change log and perpetuate the fantasy that it is the most updated DAW!!

Well, Reaper's issues and feature requests are all public (and, yes, there are several that I would really like them to do) . Do the other DAW developers do that?

I know for a fact that Sonar is the leader - having issues more than 10 years back - which is before Reaper even existed - so they are leaders alright.

I have no doubts about Cockos commitment to build the best daw ever. And they have come a long way.

The strategy is by far very different for Reaper - not selling on all this bling-bling stuff. Just a raw and naked - very good daw.

And you have a lot of money left over to buy the commercial products that you REALLY need and want.

I would say competition is trying to nail you down with how they shipping addons in locked propriety formats. Once used to these - you have to switch tools as well as you switch daw.

Some are really disturbed by pricetag not being high enough for Reaper.
To you all - pay more - get less.

I think Logic may take the crown in that area (long standing issues not addressed).
I left it about 1.5 versions ago...but even then there were several issues that were still around after they first converted it from C-Lab Creator/Notator to the first Logic re design on PC and Mac, so yeah there were several issues...some minor/others not so minor that were around for longer than a decade LOL!!
Reaper has not been going that long so Logic definitely has it beat and would be the winner.

They are both still a great apps tho, you have to find workarounds for practically any software, unfortunately no software has it all.
Basically you can complain only so much, then you just have to get on with it.

what about cubase or sonar nothing happens for them for years and years it took cubase to get to 6 to fix stuff
