It sure is pretty:

After messing about with it I'm back to Studio One, but at least when I boot into Reaper I'll be looking at that :) It says you really need hi-res monitors but I found it worked really well on an average two-monitor setup, throwing the mixer on monitor 2. Anyhow cudos to the designer, really slick though maybe a bit dark for me.

OK I have been playing about in Reaper again :) it is really nice, I may be a graphics whore but I don't think I'll be looking for another Reaper theme anytime soon. I hadn't really used Reaper much after getting a second monitor but it really feel like a comfortable workspace, I'm gonna try customizing everything again to my liking. Being able to throw an arp quickly on the same track as a synth makes me feel spoiled. And hiding unused note rows in the piano roll, and all my scales... I'm a little enamored right now, quick, someone tell me how much Reaper sucks :hihi:

Cool, any chance of a link? I googled and can't find it, I use Reaper but I've never bothered looking into different skins, but wow, that does look nice.

Actually anything that helps Reaper be nicer to work in to me does improve the music at least a bit. Inspiration can come from many things.

I had to tweak a couple things in the theme to work for me, like the loop background color and the regions, but that is to be expected and Reaper luckily allows all those sorts of things.

Its very grey, reminds me of FL, which is never a good thing. Those faders look huge, how much screen space do they waste?

Plenty! The whole theme is designed to large monitors, so that isn't shocking. But if you set the mixer to an extra monitor, actually the space it all takes feels right, appropriate, and easy on the eyes to see where each control element is. I really struggled to find a nice theme for Reaper previously and was never satisfied, and was doubtful this would do it for me since it is meant for huge monitors, bu it does the job nicely. Of course everyone's tastes are different and I'll likely end up working in Studio One anyhow, but as far as Reaper themes go it is the best I've tried.

I'm actually considering abandoning Studio One now for Reaper again. Things like allowing one track to have both audio and midi, and multiple takes of each, and select between them at will, as well as lower resource consumption, all the options with recording and rendering midi and audio output etc. I am wondering how Studio one fits. I really dig its groove engine but haven't been using it as much as I thought I needed. Anyhow the workflow in reaper in many ways is better for me, not having to throw everything into a MUX to get decent track routing feels like a cool breeze...and having regions to work out arrangements and stay organized is great. Oh Reaper, you have got me again...

Yes very pretty skin and only the second one I know that will still show volume and pan knobs when tracks are small in track control panel, which in my opinion is really essential as that's 2 things that should never be dropped from view; buttons can always be assigned to keyboard shortcuts.

Also the folder view: I have no problem assigning tracks to folder by dragging them a little bit, but it takes some getting used to seeing the structure with the use of the lights like that. Nothing beats the original skin where the tracks are physically skewed beneath the folder track.

And finally the mixer: I have 2 big monitors but it doesn't take many tracks before the view is filled, and I always prefer to have them stacked rather than endless scrolling back and forth, but this is not working with the White theme.. And to be honest I don't need all those track controls in the mixer, that's what I use the track control panel for. The mixer should just be for overview and quick adjustment.

Of course it's so quick to switch skins that I might use it from time to time, but will still stick with the Cyril V4 theme for now.

Yikes! There's an FBI warning on the Megaupload link!

I don't generally have big track counts so I don't have a lot of scrolling in the mixer really. I could see how that would be a pain for many though.

I installed it, appreciated and praised the beauty for 10-15 mins then went back to my default REACTION theme (http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=72426). I have seen WhiteTie's work and have utmost respect for him. He makes amazing UIs and this one is no less but not for me. It's too dark for my taste.

So, you are going back to your ex? it happens.
