I was able to submit a support request for this. Let's see if this gets resolved soon.lasercade wrote:Yes, I'm having a problem with the arp in Logic. You can hear the problem in my message posted a few replies back. This isn't the Logic problem of not playing the first midi note on bar 1, as it happens on any bar.Anyone else having problems with the Arp adding an extra note and/or loosing it's place?
I've tried to contact support, but I get an error with every browser I've tried. Has anyone successfully used the support form?

I tried to reprogram the "Mellow Strings" preset with U-NO-LX whch i already tried to reprogram with Arturia Jupiter 8V.
The Jupiter 8V preset used a 12dB filter. This is why inside MUX i tried to shape the sound with an EQ.
here is the demo of the Jupiter 8V preset (no external FXs used):
Jupiter 8V Mellow Strings 3
Here is the demo of the "raw" U-NO-LX preset which uses the internal Chorus:
U-NO-LX Mellow Strings w Chorus
Here is the demo of the same U-NO-LX preset with additional FXs from Mutools MUX (EQ + Reverb):
MUXed U-NO-LX Mellow Strings w Chorus
Here is the demo of the U-NO-LX preset using MUX with 2 layers (no Chorus) and additional FXs (EQ + Reverb):
MUXed U-NO-LX Mellow Strings
Personally i prefer the last example (+ the one from Jupiter 8V) but that's a matter of taste.
Here is a zip file withe MUX preset and different versions of the U-NO-LX preset (single preset + 2 layers inclusing "a" + "b" in the name):
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/53230726/U-NO- ... s%20IW.zip
So what's the sense of this some will ask. It's about the fact that with some layering and additional FX U-No-LX is much more verstaile than some people think. Of course it's difficult to do Crossmodulation or OSC Sync this way but for doing "normal" 2 OSC (or more) sounds and adding FXs using MUX is a nice tool.
You could also check my other examples (2 pages before) with up to 4 layers.
It's possible to do the same with multiple tracks and external FXs but that's not as easy as having everything in a single MUX preset. You also not have the Macro controls which you could program for the MUX interface. In this case those are detune controls for Layer 2, controls for FX amounts and controls for the filter and envelope (for both layers).
A more advanced use of MUX would be to add additional filters or other sound shaping modules to the audio path of U-NO-LX which i have not tried so far.
Also this could be done using a filter bank plugin of course but when using 3 or 4 different external FXs from different companies it will be difficult to replicate this exactly for someone who uses different FXs.

Great work ingo!! There's no secret that i stack and macro synths in mux i guess..
When you EQ, what do you do? Any special frequencies?
About using extra filters in the path. I hope you used the no brainer on Etch. It has several filter types and circuits and even external sidechain input for modulation(!). If you add midi input on channel 3/4 you can trigger the envelopes and get a monophonic filter (or poly if you use some tools from Piz, but one Etch for each note then
poor computer!). If you use channel 4 it will respond to key tracking. I have yet to try it with U-NO-LX. I have a hard time to remember that this topic is about that synth even
.
Well, simple synths in it's architecture will trigger ideas in people like me so when there's a excellent simple synth, this will happen
Ingo, if you were to decide, which classic synth would you like Tal to do next? With the risk of getting bashed, i think minimoog, ms10/20, alpha juno and jupiter 6/8 can be skipped ...
Any sane synthlover would have those emulated to perfection by now
I know there's old emulations of some synths like PRO52 but im sure a talented person like Tal (first name anyone?) could do much much better..!
Arp something is another one, yamaha's CS line - i have never seen them emulated! Oberheims blue synth, that one has been emulated i think. It's a synth edit version i think, but likely with non-standard modules.
Maybe it's time for me to head to synthzone and study some!
Sorry for rambling but bipolar hypomania + madly in love = rambling!

How about this emulation: Rave-o-Lution 309!!! I so very badly wanted it when i was young(er)
http://www.quasimidi.eu/
Listening to the song demos brings back memories. I even had it on CD as they sent it out if you requested it!

Personally even if i like both the Arturia jupiter 8V and the Jupiter 8 modules in Diva i would like to see a 100% proper emulation of a Jupiter 8 (no need for a photorealistic GUI).Crackbaby wrote: Ingo, if you were to decide, which classic synth would you like Tal to do next? The problem with Jupiter 8V is that the sound is maybe not 100% authentic (but quite nice anyway) and in Diva the parameter ranges are totally different from the original synth. Besides that Diva misses the Arp (will be maybe included in a futur update) and a proper Unison. Also Split any layer mode is missing.
I also would like to see a 100% proper Prophet 5 emulation.
Got Arturia Prophet V but the Prophet 5 emulation seems to be missing a lot of the magic of the real thing.
I mostly like the VS and the hybrid mode in the Prophet V.
If not a Prophet 5 the n a Pro One would be great which with polyphony is more or less the same.
If talk about "simple" synths a proper Polysix emulation would be great too even if the KORG emulation is not really bad.
Some of the CS synths would be great too, maybe a CS-15 or CS-30.
Last but not leas there is some need for a proper emulation some of the Roland SH synth like e.g. SH-1, SH-2, SH-3a, SH-7, SH-5, SH08, SH-1000 etc.
I would be especially interested in a proper SH-5 emulation:
http://www.vintagesynth.com/roland/sh5.php
Anyway it should be a synth that Patrick got as hardware as we have enough Synthedit synths which were made without owning the real synth and we could hear the result...
About Etch:
No i don't have it.
Recently i have experimented with U-NO-LX and both Camel Audio CamelSpace and CamelPhat. I also got Waldorf D-Pole which is awesome. Not to forget the Schwa Oligarc bundle which includes a filter too.
Soon i'll also check using the filters in MUX and also using the internal synth of MUX more.

Yes I know. It sounds real. It's amazing. It's the first plugin I've used that never sounds artificial no matter what you do to it. I know it's a relatively simple architecture but god damn. Tal nailed the sound 100%.Mushy Mushy wrote:This thing is astonishing![]()

This is really such a satisfying synth. I know when I heard it would be $70 I though "that isn't cheap" but really it is a steal.

TAL has created the best native emulation of a 100% analog synth to date.cyberheater wrote:Yes I know. It sounds real. It's amazing. OK, while I was on a little synth shopping spree, I did get the U-NO after all. Mainly because I had some money left over thanks to the generosity of another synth supplier
And because the introductory price will end on Friday.
Looking at the release history I am wondering, though, if there was no beta phase. I mean, there seems to be a new release every couple of days. Should those bugs and issues not have been resolved before they started selling it? Just saying. Since I don't feel like updating all the time, I guess I will postpone installation by a couple of weeks, I hope all the issues will have been resolved by then

Well, I am sure all issues will be resolved sooner or later. So I would still buy it now if I were you and obviously liked the sound of it. From Saturday on it will cost twice as much...

Ofcourse there was a beta phase and ofcourse we found bugs and Patrick fixed them...
But, if you take a look he improved functions with the last update like voice handling and more, there were no bugs, he just found a way to make it better... Improving and bug fixing are two different things...
