I am not all that happy with the pricing but here it is straight from their beta site.

Aug 28 is the day - Addictive Keys will finally be released!

What a ride it's been! We would like to take this opportunity to send out a huge THANK YOU to everyone involved in testing - great job!

About Addictive Keys:
Unlike AD, you do not need to buy a "full" version to get started. You can get just one of the instruments if you like. (Basically the AK engine is free.)

Here is the pricing for the XLN webshop (Euro prices incl 25% VAT):

- Studio Grand Free - $0 / €0 (3 of the 6 mics, 49 of the 88 keys!)
- Studio Grand Full - $49 / €49 (introductory price! normal is 99, but since we're giving away half of it... )
- Modern Upright - $99 / €99
- Mark One - $79 / €79

- The 'Studio Collection' - all 3 instruments - $179 / €179 (the instruments would cost 227 if bought separately)

- In addition to this, all the world's AD (full version) owners get an additional free ADpak if they get all 3 AK instruments before Oct 1. It goes both ways, if you get AK now and then AD during this time period, the offer is still valid!

I am personally annoyed at their lack of a cross grade offer for people who are already customers. Not sure I will be getting this.

I'm quite interested in it myself, but honestly the only things they could really crossgrade from would be Toontrack's EZ Keys and PG Music's Band In A Box. As a longtime BIAB user, and as someone who thought that the demo of EZ Keys was just dreadful, I'm curious as to what they have to offer viz. MIDI.

Crossgrade from Addictive Drums is what I had in mind. Lots of companies do this for example Native Instruments offers discounts to Maschine owners who buy Komplete.

True enough. And, since I also own AD, I admit I'd like a bit more than an ADpak for buying all three.

That's where I am coming from. If I have all of the AD packs I want then it sounds like I am being treated like a new customer rather than a loyal one. Thankfully I am getting a special deal for beta testing but I still think that people who did not should get a discount.

Like a Kontak Player? It would be interesting to know if third party developers can make their sample packs for it.

Exactly like the Kontakt player only I doubt 3rd parties will get involved. Think about the headache that came with the Rack Extension format. This will be just another shit storm similar to it. I think right now most developers are happy making stuff for Kontakt.

Is this really a new contender? Per Larsson at Sampletekk is given credit for the recordings. And there are a lot of Steiny D products at Sampletekk. And Rhodes. And uprights...
Anyone know for sure?
Maybe I should send Per a mail and ask?

here is a video of me going through presets for some reason in Sonar when doing my videos plug ins don't appear on the screen shot so you cannot see me going through pages and sounds and stuff but you can hear what it sounds like in my not so great (being nice about it I am not a pianist) playing style.

Well, price is fair.

So we will have multiple mics positions ? Awesome !

By the way, hope it is playable with the keyboard, unlike that crappy EZkeyz...

fair price, not sure if i want another dedicated piano vst (kontakt is doing a good job for these atm).

Will definitely check it out anyhow, big fan of Sampletekk works

Ok, cool.
I did an side by side comparison between Sampletekk Black Ambient and the Black to the different demo songs. And your own products have much more detail than this one. But I imagine that is due to it's size also...

Don't feel any G.A.S yet...

Ah.

Apparently I was under a complete misapprehension about what this product would be. When they said "music production tool", and mentioned MIDI, and especially in proximity with the release of EZ Keys, I thought it would have piano loops and grooves 'n' stuff like that. Y'know, like... Addictive Drums. Only for piano.

Instead, we have a nice sounding piano. And we can tweak its sound.

Ah.

Shrug.

This is a message to the XLN people:

Your new cloud sync.exe looks like is going to become the new favourite dessert for behaviour blockers and the such. Sonar 4 ate it for breakfast in my PC today.

I got mine captive in Norton's quarantine. I will free it for a hefty ransom...

:hihi:
