So my personal interest in allowing magazine effects for the contest is rapidly waning. There really doesn't seem to be much there that would be useful within the parameters of the contest.

32 and 64 bits, Win and Mac, etc.
I'm very impressed with these BlueCat Audio stuff.

Have a good day :)
That is exactly what I wanted! 8)
Thanks Irion! :D

@V'ger: I agree probably best to let the magazine plug-in thing drop. Could be confusing. (plus I've got what I wanted now so hahahaha (evil laugh))

Ok agree maybe it's best to avoid confusion and leave it out for now. But as we've done commercial synths before and CMs are so cheap and easy to get now, maybe a CM synth one day?

Didn't see Genesis in the list, are you sure it's not included anymore? It was a regular before.

    3. List of used FX etc written in soundcloud songs?
    A: Mandatory
    B: Voluntary
Rule vote results:
Seems clear the majority wants to outlaw cover songs and commercial patches, but make listing FX in SoundCloud voluntary.

Rules are now updated with these results and also the line about DR number, have a look: https://sites.google.com/site/kvrosc/rules and correct for errors etc. The changes will only count from next challenge (OSC 44) onward.

Anything else?

It is included in every copy.

Regarding the DRM (Dynamic Range Meter) is there a preferred number/range, or we just go by the manual. Maybe an example can help visualize the target/range for OSC. Thanks.

MP3 format, Stereo, 128-320 kbps, 512 point sync. No way to load into the TDR Meter. :(

EDIT: Wow, wave format neither, wtf lol.

Oh I saw it now. That's convenient for me, I just bought Cubase.

I think nothing preferred as all genres have different dynamics etc, this is more a tryout than anything.

@Irion: That's weird, are you sure they are 44.1khz/16 bits files?

@Aiyn: Grats with Cubase, so you finally decided on your new DAW :)

I'm using MP3 files only. When you push LOAD button you can see that supposelly it loads Waves and MP3 files.
The wave format issue may could be i'm using 48 Khz ones at 24 bits.
This program would be a hassle for me to use, due i always export to MP3 directly, I'm a (HDSSS) Hard-Drive-Space-Save-Slut, lol.

Can i use the VST one? It does the same?

Have a good day :)

Maybe the mp3 file is also 48khz?

Hello Irion,

I always export a 44.1kHz/24bit wave from Cubase and do the MP3-convertation in Wavosaur. I cannot load my waves in TDR. But I have no problems with those MP3s. I tried to test some tracks of the past from people here from the list in TDR. And yours were not the only MP3 I could not import into TDR. It seems that the software is not very flexible with different formats, even they are all MP3.

Hi,

I just tested to convert my 24-bit wave in wavosaur into a 16-bit wave.
This 16-bit wave is accepted by TDR!

B: Disallow

2. Paid (commercial) 3rd party patches/soundbanks:
Don't care, really - no way to police it much... A: Allowed

3. List of used FX etc written in soundcloud songs?
B: Voluntary

16 bit 44.1 Khz wav file is fine. I just tried 3 MP3s, all were 192 kbps two of them worked. I got the message "Format not supported" on the third one. I cannot find any difference in the format of these 3 so not sure what's happening.

The dll (VST) works fine. In fact it is suggested in the manual to put it at the end of the chain in the master channel, so you can see all the data during mixing too.

Is there any reference anywhere what DR should be good for Ambient / New age type tracks. One of mine is showing 10. Is that good?
