Good podcasting apps? [disclosure - question from mic/accessory maker/iOS app dev]

I figured I'd ask here, knowing the audience and trusting the exhaustive research typically done and (from experience) the no-holds-barred reviews given of apps, etc

Anyway, I trust your opinion and want to know if there are any gems in the podcasting app category that KVRians might have a soft spot for since there's likely to be more attention to audio quality and usability from those here that have both audio know-how and a penchant for podcasting.

I'll be meeting with the dev of Bossjock Studio as he is a fan of iRig MIC Cast so I suppose if anybody likes that app and would like to relay any questions I could do that. But if there are other ideas, thoughts, etc on podcasting apps I'd be happy to hear.

Also, I wanted to know if there are people who may still want mobility but perhaps more flexibility using multiple sources on the fly... I know there are apps that all you to use your soundboard, while recording input, etc but from my days in the live podcasting sector I know there are many that prefer to have a mixer on hand even for a more mobile podcasting solution. Obviously, I'm wondering if there's a good use here for iRig MIX other than the DJ crowd.

I too am interested in this and I am glad you brought it up.

I also applaud your disclosure which, hopefully, will help cut through the usual nonsense so we can get right to it. [My somewhat unhelpful post excluded, of course. ]

LOL, BERFAB. Thanks for the nod, I should also disclose that I respect the community for their at least somewhat unique perspective on the category of app I'm asking about. I hope that is apparent. Anyway, Bossjock is really the only podcast app I can think of off the top of my head, which is scary really.

Why scary? Because Apple sees podcasts as important obviously - enough so that they created the specific podcasts app even while most could already easily get their podcasts directly from existing apps before it was released. Yet, I feel people still have to record them piecemeal or in a not-so-convenient fashion (at least from my perspective, which I'd hope will change from the info provided by the KVR community). This is obviously important based on the disclosure but I'm genuinely interested since I did have the great opportunity to work for a unique podcasting company in the past and it is a very cool sector.
