How about adding... you know... sampling??

£320 for the Maschine MK2 and £187 for the Maschine Mikro MK2.
Is your shipping expensive to the UK?
£37 ($59). I'll personally cover the difference if our site tells you any more than that.
That's a really good price especially for the big version of Maschine. The problem I have here is getting hit with import tax from the US. I seem to be really unlucky and the post office won't hand over goods unless I pay up to the USofA.

For example, I once bought a spare battery for my Sony PSP. Buying it from America it was £12. Bargain. But then they charged me £20 in taxes ... :shock:

Dunno if I want to risk it, I might save £60 ... might pay £100 extra. Kinda sucks.

Yes, it's certainly risky with hardware. Computer-related products don't normally get charged customs duties but it might be hard to convince them that this is a computer-related product.

PM me when you want some software! :)

Am I the only person that only ever digged one NI product? Yep, I'm talking about KORE Player again!

How anyone could ever get anything done with all that shit NI throw into Komplete is beyond me!

Here's from the person using and developing for Kontakt:

* better and more streamlined UI (fullscreenable, for example)
* no limits on modulator count and destinations per modulator
* fixing bugs with typing in certain knobs (for example 3x2 filter gain, Legacy LP cutoff frequency, etc.)
* fixing 3x2 filter bug
* no limits in slots for effects
* automatable mute/solo (ridiculous that it doesn't allow this)
* moving instruments between pages (1-16, 17-32...)
* more script slots
* resource containers for multiscripts
* more efficient batch conversion to NCW (if you're converting a folder of NKIs which share WAVs, it goes through each NKI individually, constantly overwriting over the same file, which is ridiculously inefficient)
* better browser
* floating point in KSP
* true functions in KSP
* XY UI widget in KSP (so we could do graphs for, like, EQ and filter curves, etc. - ironically Kontakt does have this internally but doesn't expose it to KSP)
* etc., etc.

hehehe, digging up dirt.

The nice thing is NI made Kontakt a lot more user friendly, at least for presets, to fill Kore's shoes. I'd still love to see Kore come back but I'm not lost without it.

I liked the kore software. Have to say, didn't care for the hardware. Nice controller but too big and pretty hard to navigate a DAW.

Komplete has always been about the 3rd party stuff here (though though not as much lately.)

My biggest thing is improved routing and a more streamlined gui. The gui is quite a lot of work and real-estate for the casual user like myself.

I think we'll see Massive 2 and one of its main feature will be preset sharing and an inbuilt store where people (you and I) can sell their preset packs.

Post

still no news from NI, what do you think? Announce this update in October?

Post

I'm wondering if they will throw in Maschine software only...they make good money selling the soundpacks, I'd like to see a software only version with advanced midi mapping....

Post

Even if they decided to toss Kore the machine, the instrument was pretty interesting and a good stepping off point for people to try NI stuff. I also liked Kore Fx which was sadly tossed also, but could have been developed into something special. But, you know NI's mindset.... Save VST's in Reaktor will kill our business model of selling you an update twice a year. I guess they feel if you give away the milk, why would you buy the cow?

I call bullshit. What NI product has ever been a chargeable update twice a year? Reaktor itself has been free on 5.x updates for the last 7 years.

I'd be surprised if any single product has been a paid update more frequently than even every other year?

Just wait until it gets to v6 and see what happens. Same thing with Massive v2. It's like I said to ew. You allow a developer version of Reaktor that saves VST's and use the Apple App Store model where you (NI) has approval of developed product and even sell it on the website for a cut of the money. Everybody wins.
(And Reaktor's been on V5 since 2005...)

Yes, I'm non too happy I pay almost $500.00 for Komplete and Kontakt 5 comes out and they want what for it..?

so, what, your proposition is that they're going to start selling upodates twice a year? and you call that their 'mindset' because... of something that's entirely hypothetical that there's no justification for.

Umm, okay. No bullshit there at all, honest.
It's like I said to ew. You allow a developer version of Reaktor that saves VST's and use the Apple App Store model where you (NI) has approval of developed product and even sell it on the website for a cut of the money. Everybody wins.
...because having an 'app store model' automatically means that NI will make enough to cover any loss in sales from their flagship product(*), plus increased development costs, plus increased support costs, plus 'app store' running costs, all of which you can project better than NI...

(*) Because how many people will spend more than 379EU(**) on Reaktor 'apps' but not on Reaktor?

(**) Except its not 379EU, that would be assuming NI took all the profit from the 'app store'. Assuming its a 50/50 share, folk would have to spend 758EU for NI to make back the cost of Reaktor.

Not what I'd call a 'win', TBH.

Not that anything to do with an 'app store' model has got anything to do with a claim that they'll be 'charging for updates twice a year'. Zero correlation.
(And Reaktor's been on V5 since 2005...)
Yes, 2012 minus 7 years does indeed make 2005.
Yes, I'm non too happy I pay almost $500.00 for Komplete and Kontakt 5 comes out and they want what for it..?
Yes it must be terrible that you buy some stuff, and have that stuff, but not later stuff. And you say you only paid $500 for Komplete. Lucky bastard, not sure what you'd be complaining about there.

Get back under your bridge,,,

No. Your absolutely right. My opinions are absolutely worthless and without merit or consideration, and I bend over (without Vaseline) to the great Gods of the Instruments of Native.
