Really? What exactly do you feel is lacking in the current emulations? I never owned the original, but I have both the WOK and the Arturia, and they sound great to me. And the video of Ubukata comparing the SEM (I think it's the newer version made by Tom Oberheim) with the Arturia SEM V is impressive.
Hey, you have both emulations, a rare case it seems :D So, how do they compare in terms of dry sound, i.e. without the effects on the Arturia being used?

Are these available for OP-X Pro II? BTW your post made me go looking for the bank and I found 5 more banks I didn't have before :) I have a crazy amount of patches for this synth and they are arranged in pretty useful banks, thanks for that :)

I already tried the OP-X Pro II some time ago, it sounds very very good, but I didn't like the interface at all, too small and crowded somehow. And the price seemed a bit high to me.

I got it on sale for $99, at that price it is pretty reasonable. I do agree the interface could be overhauled, there is no real need for a keyboard and that space could be used more wisely.

Wow, 99$ is indeed a good price, it cost way more than that back when I tried it...

I'm sure Peter will have a sale again sometime soon. Personally I want to see a non-SE 64 bit OP-X Pro III :) I would say the only down-side of the synth is the SE-dependence and that it is in need of an interface overhaul. The sound is simply fantastic and it has a huge number of presets.

And really the interface in general isn't too small, it is just some elements like the arp speed isn't displayed and the bend settings are weird. The top area that represents the real hardware's girth could be turned into a display area for paraneters, that would help a lot. The knobs themselves are actually fine, but things like mousewheel support for knobs should be added.

Arturia SEM is cheap ($84.99 audiodeluxe, eventually also cheaper in other stores). With this comparison stuff... I only know about this video from this Japanese guy and the Arturia sounds very good compared to the hardware.
It's the only by Oberheim authorized emulation? Many thinking it's the best emulation by Arturia. Good stuff.

The bank was originally released for the "old" standard OP-X PRO quite a long time ago and is still available in the OP-X PRO download section. Scroll down to "OP-X Four Voice Bank":
http://www.sonicprojects.ch/opxpro/userarea.html

Those former OP-X PRO banks also can be loaded with OP-X PRO-II, featuring identical sound. However you better download the whole former OP-X PRO library as provided in the OP-X PRO-II download section which contains all former banks, so also this one. The banks in this package have been cleaned for OP-X PRO-II (there was some junk data in the program places higher than 64 which OP-X PRO didn't use, but OP-X PRO-II does with its new 128 patches-per-bank format). Also the bank file size is much smaller here. It's presented all in one handy folder that you simply can copy to the library (so into the OP-X PRO-II folder) and you have all former banks available. It's the package below the headline "Former OP-X PRO library" (second from top):

Btw, the coming Jupiter-8 bank will be posted here soon too. There also will be a post about it here on KVR as usual, very soon.

Btw, regarding A:B hardware comparison, check this:

The used patches too can be downloaded here, headline "Comparison Bank":

Since youtube isn't a trusty reference audio wise there are also better quality mp3 examples of the same available here:

Both songs are all OP-X Pro II except the drums

My only issue with Synthedit is it isn't 64 bit.

Yes, I read that as well somewhere, it even has the old Oberheim logo on its GUI, which surprises me as not even Oberheim's own instruments have that logo these days, probably because the logo belongs to Gibson.

I am finished with reprogramming the Jupiter 8 patch sheets in Arturia Jupiter 8V but most of the have to be further optimized. I'll publish that for free too as soon as i'm close to be finíshed. Maybe others could then help to optimize it further.
