I've not had any of the stability problems I had with V6 and when judged as a wavesequencer (rather than the rompler I had previously taken it for) it works brilliantly. Long story short - I've bought it! Thanks everybody for your reccomendations, now I'm off to sequence some waves!
I'm glad you've finally found what you were looking for ;)

I noticed that the sample synths in the FL version of SynthMaker include a good number of wavetable/wavesequencing toys. They were mostly made by Angular Momentum I think.
I also noticed that they are not actually included and the massive ~900kb files must be downloaded, through the IL Downloader, and not at my account...
So, I havent tried them, but Id like to, and they looked interesting. :hihi:

Bump.

Since starting this thread, I've switched over to OSX. As Wusikstation is Windows only, it's not an option for me.

Have a look at the OASYS wave sequencing specifications to see what we are all missing out on...

I really would like to see a talented dev take on a new wave sequencing synthesizer, or include advanced wave sequencing into an already existing product (alchemy, zebra, etc.).

Anyone who has Logic the ES2 has some powerful wavesequencing capabilities (amongst many other things) - I came across a SOS tutorial on getting the most from them:

I agree...

Seems a natural fit for Alchemy as it already works with samples... but, and no offense to Camel, they are slow about, or not focused on, adding synth functionality. It has been 4 years since Alchemy was released and there is no significant additions to the synth engine so I would not expect wave sequencing to show up there any time soon...

So another Dev then... maybe Fxpansion? They have the sample engine from Geist and could leverage that into a wave sequencing synth.

I am not convinced that Wusik can replicate the wavestation either. In the posted video, it was sequencing single cycle waves, not samples... and not one wavestation-esque audio example has been posted.

In either case, there is nothing on the Mac.

FIY: Wusik Station can sequence anything you input: complete samples, wav files, sfz files, single-cycle, large samples (no DST) etc ... and it does everything most Wave Sequencers does, and goes far with extra functions. ;-) But indeed, no MAC version, sorry.

Any plans for a Mac version? :)

Sadly no, we had some problems in the last porting. In any event, I heard some users using it with a Windows Emulator, not sure how good it is under such conditions...

Here's a link to some older tutorials:
http://www.wusik.com/ww/help/previous-tutorials

There are some nice Wavesequencer tutorials there.

More can be found here:

Here's a crazy tutorial, using more than 2 WSeqs at the same time. The sounds are actually samples, not single-cycle waveforms. (yes, I know, they are Saw, Noise, ... but still, those are samples) You can use any sound you want, as I said.

I think Kinisis is sort of what you are looking for:

It's relatively simple though...

Xphraze, formly by Refx. I don't know know why they don't make an improved modern version... it was basicly a WS on steroids! Youc an load samples and what not.
As a past owner of the original WS keyboard, I like it, but it does have some issues with boosting bass and weird stuff - I wonder if it's a bug or deliberately "EQ'ed".....
