Buying a new computer

What would be the best components to build an ultimate music computer with $1200? It should run Omnisphere, MachFive 3 and Diva easily. The budget isn't that strict but $1800 is ultimate maximum I'm willing to spend. I wouldn't use the computer for gaming so I'm going to use it only for making music.

One thing is for sure, everybody recommends a Z77 chipset board so that is a clear choice. Two motherboard manufacturers seem to be more popular, Gigabyte and Asus, especially the former. But because it is not available in Finland I bought Asus, I bought the P8Z77V-Pro but I heard that LX is also good.
I bought quad i7 but some people say that quad i5 would be even enough, former is abt. 300e and latter abt. 200e
A lot of people seem nowadays to recommend using the processor built in display adapter (HD4000/HD3000), I use it and still no problems.
and for harddrive Samsung 830 series I recommend too.
I think those are the most important choices.

Most of all make sure the motherboard works well. Anandtech posts DPC latency tests in their reviews, for example, it's worth checking out. And look for any compatibility problems with soundcards you plan to use.

Works like a charm with Omnisphere and Diva. I don't have MachFive, but for a similar example, no problems with heavy Kontakt patches running concurrently with many instances of those other two.
In case the RME interface doesn't fit the budget: a friend of mine is running an otherwise identical system (we planned and ordered them at the same time) using an ESI Maya 44 XTe, and he told me it works well and stable with the rest of the setup.
