Are these snares or what could they be

Hey, i really like this sort of snare type sound that i see a lot of producers using at the moment, here is an example :



at 1.45, its sort of like a tinny sound, i also see some people using pitched ones

at 2.13 here is another exmample - this one has less of the tinny sound and more of a pure snare, but im not sure -



most prominant around 2.06 -

I've tried ALOT of snares but can't get that tinny sort of sound, any recommendations?

The answer is very simple: It's an 808 snare. The 808 is a drum machine which is very popular in hip-hop and electronic music.
You'll find a free 808 drum kit pretty easily on google.
