I have a 6 year old iPod Classic for music that only just died yesterday ... gadgets only go obsolete if you play the obsolescence "game" that they want you to play. I like driving things to the ground and then some.

But even when you do keep them unless you have space to keep every app you own in memory then you may find apps in App Store are no longer available for your device.
