Looking forward to demo this thing..
Yeah but you know it will become a staple of the genre so strap in! :hihi:

Also, me too.

Whatever test it was, Oxium passed it, and is mainly a full success of a Next Gen VA with neverseen and musical features.

Based on that i'm not sure if i will really need it. Personally i would have preferred a proper SH emulation like TAL-U-NO-LX did with the Juno-60.
Then it will be maybe up to TAL to build a proper SH-101 emulation maybe (besides TAL Bassline)...

+1.

All I want is a cracking 101 emulation. I do suspect (and hope) this will have some sort of "basic" functionality to allow just that
At first glance, it looks like the "basic" functionality you're looking for is just not using the extra features. No reason you have to use all 8 layers and the supersaw, etc.
Exactly! You don't have to use everything. I wasn't too excited about this previously but it looks pretty neat to use and the demo's sounds really nice.

Was rome built in a day? I admire D16 for taking their time getting things right instead of rushing out with release after release like Arturia.

Also this isnt just another synth, its a complex modelled recreation of the 101, that's using circuit modelling technology.

And hopefully 0dfb filters...
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

this is because someone broke the non disclosure agreement and leaked the existance of it like a year or two early.. i would take that kind of contract more seriously..

I don't care one bit about 'authentic' sound...I want millions of features and 8 layers..... :P

Good for you :) Then you must've been happy for a long time with the softsynths already available... Don't think you even need this one really...

What I don't need is a developer wasting time trying to emulate some 40 year old piece of crap..........Oh I need this one alright. Because I plan on using it to make new sounds not sounds old enough to be someone's grandfather........

By "Next Gen", are you referring to its feature set? If that's the gauge, then you're certainly correct, but as far the sound goes, I personally prefer the LuSH-101 demos and even other XILS instruments.

So you obviously have no interest in piano, guitar, drums, etc...

Your opinion of HW vs. SW has been posted enough to be well known around here, but there's no need to call the classic SH-101 a piece of crap. It's simply not true.

Synths usually attain classic status for a good reason and this one has been used on countless classic tracks, acid or otherwise. [/obvious]

Anyway, I'm well looking forward to LuSH-101 regardless of how close the emulation is. D-16 plugins are great.

Peace,
Andy.
