My favorite Dr. Seuss work. It's better with the illustrations, but even without them, it's still extremely relevant to this strange, strange thread:

Yeah, that's how I felt too. All the hype ("The only synthesizer you need") could turn people like me off.Echoes in the Attic wrote:The demos sound nice enough but it doesn't seem to stand apart from most other decent but typical VAs like Arturia, Xils Lab, AAS etc. I still might like if it gels with me on trying it out. ButI don't hear anything particularly ground breaking.

You said the tech "just isn't quite there yet" and I'm pointing out the Minimax to demonstrate that the tech has existed for the past 10 years.zerocrossing wrote:Considering the hardware to run Minimax is more than three times more than I paid for my ATC-x QFS... it had better sound every bit as good...
The Plugiator runs and includes Minimax, it costs $381.65 with our "fall15" coupon code:though I'd have to hear that for myself... and I won't because... well I won't spend that kind of cash on hardware like that. I don't think that even includes the software, does it? I'm listening to their audio demo now and it's not impressing me. Very kind of clean and pristine sounding.

Daves have a habit of "Daving" because they simply can not do otherwise, which correspondingly leaves one "daved"...so, good call by his parentsUncle E wrote:Our web guy is named Daved, as in "you just got daved!"Vectorman wrote:I always seem to be surrounded by other Daves. Amazing after all these years you still can't get Minimax integrated as a standard VST like Powercore or UAD plugs. Where is the U-he Mini?Uncle E wrote:You said the tech "just isn't quite there yet" and I'm pointing out the Minimax to demonstrate that the tech has existed for the past 10 years.zerocrossing wrote:Considering the hardware to run Minimax is more than three times more than I paid for my ATC-x QFS... it had better sound every bit as good...

Not entirely sure the extra hype was needed on this from D16 "Quality redefined" and all that garbage, hopefully they don't believe their own hype and price it out of reality.
