I already have Saurus, Diva, Ace, Synthsquad, Reaktor, etc for synthesizer stuff
If I was primarily producing Acid or House music Id probably buy all of their stuff.

Man that gui is gorgeous. Looks like they sort of nailed something Synthix is still trying to...

I'm a Dave too. Until recently, there were four Daves in my office. Talk about confusing!Vectorman wrote:I always seem to be surrounded by other Daves. It's so confusing. Some people still call me "LD" (short for "Little Dave," once used to differentiate me from "Big Dave," a friend who was much taller than I).ZenPunkHippy wrote:I thought everyone at KVR was named Dave?Kriminal wrote:Btw.....how does everyone know my name and i dont know anyone elses?

I still to this day don't understand the hype of the minimax. To my ears it was not even remotely close to a real minimoog.. or then it just wasn't close to any minimoogs I've tried.Uncle E wrote:You said the tech "just isn't quite there yet" and I'm pointing out the Minimax to demonstrate that the tech has existed for the past 10 years.zerocrossing wrote:Considering the hardware to run Minimax is more than three times more than I paid for my ATC-x QFS... it had better sound every bit as good...
Oh and the shop that sold the hardware minimax slab had two REAL minimoogs next to it (at the peak of the ebay/2nd hand minimoog boom about 6-7 years ago) so of course everybody compared it directly, side by side. Didn't meet a single person who thought the minimax sounded like the minimoog. Especially at full resonance it just fell completely apart.. not to mention that you couldn't get any of the phat tones like on the real thing with that feedback routing trick (low out to ext. in) at the back.
I was really perplexed back then when everybody was hyping up minimax and I'm still perplexed today. It's one of the very few things that always makes me go "are you not hearing what I'm hearing?! One of us is deaf!".
The other was the original UA 1176 vs the real thing. People kept insisting it sounded _exactly_ like a real 1176 and I just got that same feeling again. Even worse, most people had a real 1176 of some revision in their rack and they STILL insisted it sounded just like the UA one.
Cheers!

You should check out their youtube page regarding a few sounds/experiments.Monkage wrote:Not entirely sure the extra hype was needed on this from D16 "Quality redefined" and all that garbage, hopefully they don't believe their own hype and price it out of reality.
And don't be afraid. They are not the ones with them ridiculous prices.

I put up an oscillator test before that compared the Minimax to the Minimoog. Most people who heard the test said that they sounded the same.bmanic wrote:I still to this day don't understand the hype of the minimax. This I agree with. I never use the Minimax with resonance over 50%, which sounds like my Minimoog sounded at 100%. Then again, a customer once told me that his museum condition early Minimoog (it was either Bob Moog's own Mini or a preproduction model, I can't remember which) had really high resonance like Minimax has, so I'm not sure my Minimoog was in spec.Especially at full resonance it just fell completely apart
I still use Minimax, Pro-12, and DIVA side-by-side. They're the three best virtual analogs I've found.I was really perplexed back then when everybody was hyping up minimax and I'm still perplexed today. It's one of the very few things that always makes me go "are you not hearing what I'm hearing?! One of us is deaf!".
I agree with this, as well. The fact that the new 1176's sound so much more like the real thing than the early plug-in does is testament to you and I getting this one right. The other was the original UA 1176 vs the real thing. People kept insisting it sounded _exactly_ like a real 1176 and I just got that same feeling again. Even worse, most people had a real 1176 of some revision in their rack and they STILL insisted it sounded just like the UA one.

I take it the insult is directed at me. Guess you don't like laughing.
Moderators. I just got insulted for laughing at someone.
Is there a policy for dealing with aggressive comments like "moron"?
Of course, I'll accept a sorry, but make sure he doesn't do it again... In every thread

Someone gave an opinion on Oxium that you didn't like. That's not bad mouthing it's called the right to express an opinion. Maybe they don't have that in your country.Lotuzia wrote:Purity Lied wrote:"OK I'll leave this thread to the hardware freaks and the Oxium Spam Machine"

Calling people Morons huh? Classy move SpamBot. It's that pompous arrogant attitude that ensures I will never buy another Xils product. Why the real developers at Xils ever let you crawl onboard and still allow you to speak for them I'll never know. It's cost them at last one customer and I wouldn't surprised if there weren't others........

Don't waste your time Purity.......Lotuzia thinks that KVR is his personal playground and the Mods his loyal lap dogs.........apparently there is no stopping the Oxium Spam Machine.Purity Lied wrote:"Was just -briefly- answering to someone badmouthing Oxium in this thread."
