CINEMATIC GUITARS 2: PRE-ORDER & SAVE!

EPIC NEWS!

We are happy to announce our most epic product release to date: Cinematic Guitars 2

http://www.samplelogic.com/products/cinematicguitars2

REDEFINE YOUR SOUND WITH UNPRECEDENTED INTERFACE CONTROLS

Sample Logic continues their cinematic legacy by introducing Cinematic Guitars 2 - A suite of over 1200 jaw-dropping instruments and multis that are in no way just another guitar sample library. In creating a sequel to Cinematic Guitars, the designers at Sample Logic went all the way back to the fundamentals of the recording process, where they re-conceived and invented new and clever ways of creating and capturing unique sounds derived entirely from real guitars, a big part of which came from the destruction and mutilation of real guitars during the recording process. From guitars being chained up, drilled, shattered, sledge hammered, and set on fire to the elegance and pristine air of bowed and prepared guitars, all off which were carefully manipulated and morphed to craft a library that sounds like no other.

The demos sound great. Even better than the original Cinematic Guitars, which are extraordinary.

But the big pre-order discount is a mere 5% - 20 bucks off a $400 product. I know you're (rightfully) proud of your products, but c'mon, 5%? Really?

yay.. another overpriced product.

Would rather buy a new iPod for that kind of money.. or even another DAW.

Your "Loyalty Discount" is a slap in the face, joke.

And.. you never even sent back a response (I had to send through your clunky "contact us" page) to a critical problem I'm having with CG1, months ago.

Really wish I had just bought Omnisphere instead.. way better bang for the buck.

So, yeah.. overpriced products, bad customer service.. not cool. :?

Hi Progtronic
Really sorry you feel this way.
First off, if you are having problems filling out an email through our contact page please feel free to contact us direct at support@samplelogic.com and we will do our best to take care of you.

We are sorry that you feel our discount is a slap in the face. If you prefer we are more then happy to charge your full price.

Our tools are geared for FIlm, TV and Game composer and perhaps are not best suited for your style of music.

best of luck

well it seems sample logic can hold those prices and they have enough customers, nice demos, but why get this for the overpriced tag if you can get OMNISPHERE for it and less?!?!?!?

sorry 200 bucks maximum worth not more.

^This sort of attitude, especially toward a paying customer, is neither funny or helpful.

My submission through your contact page seemed to go through fine, but I had no indication whether it was actually received. No follow up email.. nothing.. ever.

A separate submission form strictly for customer issues regarding a product, that goes directly to 'support@samplelogic.com'.. or even just stating that sending email to that address, would be a better solution.

Regarding what your 'tools' are geared for.. I made the determination that your product did, in fact, suit the style of music for the particular project I was/am working on. My problem initially was the amount of content v.s. price, but I got over that and just put it to use.

Later I found an actual bug, or what I believe to be a scripting error, that affected the entire instrument list, especially the single sample patches. That was my primary concern, and was why I tried to contact you. With no response I felt like: 'Well they got my money.. guess they could give a shit now.'.

When I've had issues with other software companies, I generally get a fairly quick response from someone who will try to help me with any problems I may be having. Even Native Instruments (who is notorious for crappy customer service) even got back to me, eventually.

None of this will probably make a difference to you. I'm sure you'll just consider me a nuisance.. and go about doing your thing. I at least felt I had to try to get my feelings, regarding all this, across somehow.

believe me i had also experience with them and they show they greedy faces and arrogance mostly afterwards thats why i cannot and WONT recommend them at all, i always say GET OMNISPHERE ! it contains a lot more a VERY NICE AND GREAT SUPPORT! hence they dont even charge great updates, videos and more and what does sample logic do? selling overpriced sample libraries without much options and updates cost mostly.
i know when there would be no paying customers there would be no sample logic or such an arrogant behaviour but there are still a lot!
so we should spread the word.

Reminds me of the treatment I got when I walked into the Mercedes dealership in an upscale neighborhood in my Saturday bluejeans and sweatshirt. They looked at me like it was beneath them to even talk to me. Needless to say, I bought my car elsewhere.

As an owner of Synergy and as a small, very small developer myself, I feel sorry for you.

Yep - Sample Logic Products are great but Pre-Sale discount on CG2 is nonsense... and I have many Sample Logic products including CG... The pre-Sale discount price would have to be around $200 for me to purchase. first time I have to say...SL - your attitude sucks.

Blimey. Some developers REALLY need to think more carefully before posting on a public forum.

Wrong answer.......I have 2 of your products and that statement does nothing for your image and has made me think carefully before giving you anymore business.

Steinberg had that attitude hopefully they have seen the light and changed for good.

A developer can charge whatever price they like, moderated by market realities and competitor pricing. High-end libraries generally are pricey, and Sample Logic's product offerings are definitely high-end, in the same league with Omnisphere (which many also believe to be overpriced). They are also unique, so there aren't any competitors to compare to. In short, they can demand a high price and if you want those sounds badly enough, you'll pay it. Or not.

Their position, IMO, is entirely legitimate and justified. But to put down potential or existing customers by suggesting that they're just not the right class of people they want to sell to, well that's just amateurish, naive and dangerously clumsy public relations. Why even announce the product here on kvr if they have such a low opinion of its readers?

If I were in SL's position, I'd split the product into entry-level and full versions. Sell a cut-down "lite" version for $100, the premium package for $400. Something for the bedroom producers and something better for professional composers who get to charge someone else for the software and write off the expense on their income taxes.
