My main DAW is Reaper at the moment - I only really use S1 as an audio editor (audio groove quantize and ARA is great for this). Can't really see this changing unless/until S1 improves it's MIDI handling, signal routing and CPU use.

I am right there with you, I wish there were a way to have Studio One open as the editor for Reaper.dexterbella wrote:My main DAW is Reaper at the moment - I only really use S1 as an audio editor (audio groove quantize and ARA is great for this). It needs to be just a little more robust.
It needs to handle CPU much better than it does now.
It needs to give more options in the midi area such as quantize.
It needs to sort it's tracks out like Cubase does in the mixer.
It needs to have a more attractive colour scheme, call it optional. I think Cubase has a great colour scheme. I love working in that environment and have gone back to it recently for better CPU and nicer graphics and a few more options. I use both frequently now.

Sounds like a good update to me. Let's put you in charge.
I'm afraid that I'll be bouncing between the two programs, too. Can't quite let go of Cubase, can't quite stand to getting projects started in it. Commitment problems maybe?

The mixer less fat please. THE MIXER LESS FAT! I will pay $50 for that alone.
It's all about the wavelets. I dream of the perfect additive synthesis.

What I would like to see in version 3 is:
- an option in preferences to set by default all VST/VSTi/AU plugins as pinned
- when you duplicate an instrument track to also duplicate the instrument, not only the track
- more colors for parts and tracks
- selection to be free and not be on the grid (like when you hold shift and drag). I mean to reverse the procedure, when you don't hold shift to be like is now when you hold shift, and vice versa, at least to be an option to change this thing

Turn snapping off. When snap is on, everything snaps. When it's off, nothing snaps.nIGhT-SoN wrote:- selection to be free and not be on the grid (like when you hold shift and drag). Delay Compensation for Automation would be welcomed in such a revolutionary DAW with automation out of time, though it's only a few samples out of time, but it builds up and screws your mixes, but nobody notice it, because we live in an amazing music age, where everyone is a producer, mastering engineer and always supposedly running out of non-existent deadlines
