I wish there was emulated noise in this actually (of course maybe switch to turn it off too). Most of the noise in the hardware Juno-60 came from the chorus on board, it was actually quite a noisy beast ... Still would like to see this emulated too, it can add certain vibe. Btw. And not just added generic noise oscillator code pleaselionscub68 wrote:The primary differences are simple:AstralExistence wrote:wow, ok so, never owned an analog hw synth before but im having a difficult time finding a real difference in the analog hw synth demos on youtube and the uno lx.

Indeed, Penguin... so far most of the noise emulations I've heard [and tested] are just generic noise around -100dB without any phase and frequency modulation added that would give more realism to it.
I would like to hear that in U-NO-LX, but the real thing is really too noisy. I would make the noise a bit less loud, like at -90dB or thereabouts.

I just downloaded the demo and started to record a small demo.
I promised myself NOT to make a cheesy synth pop tune........I'm currently placing the notes for a cheesy octave bass
I really like it so far! It's obviously very limited but that can often be very inspiring!
Cheers

Ok, I just finished the demo
It starts slightly Wendy Carlos-ish and then suddenly becomes the cheesiest tune in human history
Ultra cheese 3000
Everything you hear comes straight out of the synth. There is not even a limiter on the master.
I made all presets from scratch (which isn't that hard on such a limited synth
)
Cheers

Indeed, but funny, nevertheless. I laughed when you jumped into the eightish electro-pop like tune.Bronto Scorpio wrote:Ok, I just finished the demo

Admittedly, the "disco" part flows on very naturally, but it's not as... erm... intellectually stimulating. I'd call the tune "troll harder"

umm. so, i just opened cubase, it doesn't even recognize the uno lx v2 and also deleted all my tal uno plugin info and now my songs are corrupt because there seeing the old v1 uno. i use cubase elements. this is a very serious issue. you should never rename a vst dll. this is day one programer stuff. how can i fix this? im a bit pissed but trying to remain calm. i still got my presets as i removed the tal user folder before installing v2.

Sorry to poop on your party Astral... but not every DAW behaves the same. Reaper for instance works perfectly with most of the plugins I throw at it. It's a Cubase related problem. I must say I didn't encounter many problems with Cubase not recognising plugins, though. If someone asked me what would I recommend as a "problem free DAW" [there's no such thing], I would recommend Reaper and Cubase, but Cubase 2 or 5. Not the latest and "greatest" so much. Cubase 2 is great for most of the tasks, and it does work with multicores nicely.
Usually, you renaming the plugins doesn't make much difference, though, since they have their names hard-coded into them. So you're f**ked anyway if it doesn't work. Yes, contact TAL about it.
Gosh, f**k is just a word... why censoring it. You Americans are so unbelievably hypocritical. People speak as they speak, you shouldn't censor it. I hear the f**k word about 100 times per day. WTF?

man, ive been seeing quite a few cubase 'fixes' in the tal bug reports. is this really a bug? today i learned about the difference between instruments channels vs tracks. im not sure if this has anything to do with the cubase compatibility problem though. i do own reaper but switched to cubase elements. its almost like i took both a step forward and a step back. forward in that cubase is industry standard, umm, well, a huge step back in terms of features... because i just own elements. but either way, this is a serious bug, or a serious problem i dont yet understand.DuX wrote:Sorry to poop on your party Astral... but not every DAW behaves the same. Actually i don't really understand what the problem is. You have both version of UNO-LX installed now, v1.xx and v2? As far as i understood you, you only have v2 installed now though...AstralExistence wrote:umm. so, i just opened cubase, it doesn't even recognize the uno lx v2 and also deleted all my tal uno plugin info and now my songs are corrupt because there seeing the old v1 uno. i use cubase elements. this is a very serious issue. you should never rename a vst dll. this is day one programer stuff. how can i fix this? im a bit pissed but trying to remain calm. i still got my presets as i removed the tal user folder before installing v2.
Whatever the problem is, you could try to delete both the vstplugin list and the blacklist in your /User/AppData/Steinberg/Cubase Elements folder, that will make Cubase do a complete search for your plugins again, maybe there's something corrupt in those files. Note though, that you have to add your VST plugin folder location in the Cubase options again.
