FLStudio, to me, still feels like a weird plant that grew out of a seed many years ago and no amount of pruning will ever help. It's time to take some of its DNA, genetically modify a new seed and grow a new plant.

too lazy to see if his questions were answered so ill just drop some knowledge xP
1. bring up the sampler/vsti stepSequencer. click on the desired vsti/sample. then open your mixer and right click, link selected vsti to track.(shortcut is right click>L>T) also if you double click the little light that lights up green on the step sequencer then you can select all, then on the mixer right click>L>S(starting from this track, and it puts each instrument into its own track). Now to record you can either record the audio or midi, to do this select your vsti, then on the top right click the record button and pick what you would like to record.
2. Your patterns can be as long as you would like, and like i said in the first question you can record the midi or audio.
don't see how much simpler it can get.
3. if you hold the left click a couple seconds without moving the pattern or clip then the track gets copied. and right deletes. And it can get annoying but thats what ctrlz is for, also alt ctrl z keeps going back to earlier actions allowing you to undo a bunch of things.
4. This is a little different from other daws as FL gives you 99 inserts and 4 sends with no more to add. the good thing about this is that all the inserts are able to be aux sends, this allows really creative use of routing. when you select a track on the mixer you will see on the master there is a button yellowed out, with an up arrow, that is where the track is going, you can change it and send it anywhere. or right click on another track and route to either only that track or side chain to it.
5. as i recall some of the F buttons are assigned to the 5 windows. I don't use them since i have plenty of space on my dual monitors.
anyways hope this helped some one.

FL is awesome. but I wouldn't mind a paid upgrade for better.. or just a bit different.. default multitrack audio recording.. and MULTIPLE TIME SIGNATURES.
