I think they should have done better by following the example of people like Urs, and releasing a public BETA. People would be able to download it for free, testing it, giving feedback, and they would have several advantages:
1. A very large beta test team that is both interested and experienced.
2. Free publicity.
3. Since everybody know in advance that it's a Beta, people would be much more understandavble and forgiving on the problems that are there.
Relying on just a close group of beta testers that, as people already pointed out, maybe or maybe not be experienced Windows users can very well be a shoot in their own foot. And we know that Windows is a very vast field, with lots of possible configurations, with the inherent problems that carries.

It certainly looks that way. If they expect any Windows users to switch away from Cubase/Sonar/etc., they had better reconsider that position...hibidy wrote:I'm guessing there will be no demo.

Yes, I would definitely want to demo...
That said I'm still on XP, so by the time I get my new machine there should be some detailed feedback from the early adopters/etc

There's never been DP demos,I doubt there will be any.
I talked to a friend of mine who's 1 of the beta testers(Mac)I was told the release is incredibly stable for a .0 release.
I'll be curious to see the feedback from Windows users.

he's referring to me, quote from another thread:
You can crossgrade from a competing product. It's worth noting that the Windows version isn't actually released yet. You can buy the Mac version now and it says they will inform you when the Windows version is available.

When I first heard, I was almost sure that my nipples would soon burst from their thimbles but alas they have not and instead become calloused with the patience of a tired old nip...
