W, you need to check out the ones for sale @ Cracker Barrel. They're very reasonable (I've priced rockers), more importantly - they're comfortable. I decided to finish a smoke in one before going in to eat and really didn't want to get out.

Will do. My main goal is to be able to play bass or guitar for a long, comfy while. Rocking is a onus!osiris wrote:W, you need to check out the ones for sale @ Cracker Barrel. Thanks! Just another thing to deal with..Hink wrote:I have my mesa boogie head on the floor and I use that as a footrest but a footrest is important. My chair (a tall back desk chair) has arms but they never get in the way.
Sorry about your toes woolyloach

I prefer a separate footstool and just a cushioned chair of the right height - about 18 inches I think it is. I'd say find a chair that feels like the height is right and measure it, then find the right height for the footstool, then go shoppin' and Bob's your Uncle
Ok, I just had a couple of toes lopped off (diabetes) and now standing to play is.. difficult.
I'm looking for recommendations on a chair to sit in whilst playing. Anyone got any ideas?
All help appreciated. :help:
Why don't you take a look at artists'/drafting stools, with or without a back?

(sorry it's a walmart link)
They'll set you up high as you want, and you should be able to hit a pedal board with your foot.

I have a hard time fiding secretary's chairs with a small enough BUTT. Not that I have a particularly small butt, but i really prefer sitting on my butt and not on the backs of my legs. Those kneely chairs have nice small butt areas, but the never make them high enough.

If you want to sit, maintain good posture and play guitar get a drummers throne:

or one of those three leg guitar chairs like classical guitarists use
