It looks kind of rough around the edges which put me off of it for a long time but now that I try it i'm surprised to see that it runs lightweight and smooth. Same can be said for GrainMaker.

Thanks for the bump there or I would've missed this. It's great! I've only mucked around with a few different midi generators but I think this one takes the cake.
By the way, I saw noone had mentioned alpha 08, released in May this year. It's available at the site: http://tonecarver.wordpress.com/nova3-g ... encer-vst/

I'd just like to say thanks for making this. I've used it on several songs, and find it a joy to play around with.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Thanks for the props
Glad you are enjoying it. I have an idea brewing for another midi sequencer but it's several months away .. too early to tell if it would be useful or not yet. Will keep you posted.

Thanks. No progress yet, I have a few ideas for it but haven't been motivated enough to commit the time it would take to make the changes. Maybe someday ...cosmosis wrote:This is still one of my favorite toys. Any progress?

I have just discovered Nova3 and it is incredible! I'm using it to drive Sonic Charge's Microtonic; the results are astounding. No static, boring drum loops here.
The "obstacles" are especially fun and interesting. Most of the time I have no idea what they will do. I drop one onto the grid and just wait to be amazed.
Thank you very much ToneCarver for your generosity! Please keep us posted on any future enhancements or other projects.
By the way, do you have a Donate button hiding somewhere?

The readme file has brief descriptions of the obstacles in case you are curious.
No donate button yet, maybe someday

Huh. I've never tried it on drums... Have to give that a try! I love it for melodic sequencing though.chardin wrote:I have just discovered Nova3 and it is incredible! I'm using it to drive Sonic Charge's Microtonic; the results are astounding. No static, boring drum loops here.

My all time favourite generative tool
And yes, it's great on drums or drumlike things too!
Cheers,
Tom
