I'm keen to try these melda plugins and have specified the location of the VST plugins folder, but neither Sony Acid, nor Sony Sound Forge can see them.

I'm using Acid pro 6 and also have the latest version of Sound Forge running on a WIN7 64 bit i7 laptop.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Norman

I don't have Acid or Sound Forge, but I have Melda free plugins.

Can you see the plugins with another host? for example with Reaper?
If not, then you might need to reinstall them again, otherwise it means the problem resides in the Acid or Sound Forge part.

Can you see other plugins with Acid?

Try to take one possibility at a time and test it.

I just installed Reaper... I've never used that before, though I've been using Acid and Soundforge since the mid 90s.
I can't see the Melda plugins in Reaper either. I wonder if it has anything to do with me running WIN7 in 64 bit.

I uninstalled the free Melda plugins and reinstalled using the latest download for WIN7 64 Bit. Still nothing shows... I specified the path to MeldaProducts for both VST and VST3 folders.

Somewhere I have a CD Rom with Cubase LE on it that came with some Tascam hardware that I bought recently. If I can find that then I'll install it and see if anything shows up there.

I'll report back with my findings. Thanks for your help.

In Reaper go to options/preferences/VST there you can specify the path for your vstplugins (i usually set it like this C:\Program Files (x86)\Vstplugins\) but you can know which one during the installation of Melda plugins.
This is if your host is 32bit.

I also have win7 64bit but i use 32bit host with 32bit plugins in this folder:C:\Program Files (x86)\Vstplugins\
In case I use 64bit host, I use 64bit plugins in this folder:
C:\Program Files\Vstplugins\
So, maybe you have installed the 64bit plugins while using the 32bit host, so that you can't see them?

Do it!! After activating it with the elicense with Steinberg, Download Cubase Elements 6 Trial, install then buy upgrade from Steinberg for $50. This is the half price!! wonderful host, you would love it! just don't maximize the windows and everything will be wonderful (32bit and 64bit).
I've just found my cubase le which also came with tascam sound card few years ago!! Then I bought the upgrade! The best thing I bought for 2012!!

Yes I have scanned the plugin folders - both VST and VST3. I even copied a couple of the Melda .dll plugin files directly into the existing active VST folder, but they are ignored, though other plugins including others that I have just installed do show up.

I haven't had time yet to try Engee's suggestions, though sometime this coming weekend I intend to try installing the 32 bit version of Melda instead of the 64 bit version.

My version of Soundforge is the latest 64 bit version. My version of Acid is Pro 6 so it's probably 32 bit. My computer is WIN7 64 bit.

I'll report back again when I've installed the 32 bit version... Hopefully that will work.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

OK... Success.

The 32 bit version of Melda plugins shows up. Weird that the 64 bit ones don't show despite having WIN7 64 bit and 64 bit Soundforge.
