With Native Instruments September sale done and retailers blowing out Komplete 8, still no Komplete 9? Last couple of years they released Komplete in early September. I would have thought October 1st would be the date.

it must still be gestating in a kokoon somewhere in berlin.

I'd say next year.

If it's not out until next year I may wish I had considered the July sale.

OTOH I'm not hurting with version 7: Kontakt 4 still opens all of my 3rd party libraries and I still haven't made it thru all of the K7 presets even once LOL.

What would they put in K9 that is not in K8 (Ultimate)? I don't think anything major has been recently released by NI that would require a new Komplete package.

They really missed an opportunity here. They could have made loads of money if they would have released Massive 2 during the "Dubstep boom".
I don't know how long the dubstep thingy will last but I guess they missed the train by now.
A simple update with some new wavetables, a stereo signal path and maybe a few other things wouldn't even be that much work.

I guess their software sales are really just a drop in the ocean compared to their hardware stuff and it was more lucrative to work on updates for Maschine, Traktor etc.

Cheers

Well I speculated last year that they would become more of a content supplier than anything else.

The plugins are mature, and as we've discussed elsewhere there's not many places they can go with updates.

Also, another library or Reaktor Ensemble surely has far less overhead in terms of support and updates than a new plugin.

I hope I'm wrong though!

I think it's on hold until they sort bugs out, but will probably be out before the end of the year.

still on komplete7. i may upgrade when komplete 10 or 11 comes along.
