I'm playing in a Pink Floyd tribute band.
We have one mono click track and a stereo track for backing and sfx.
Can i use an iPad for this purpose? (Together with an soundcard or mixer)

If i cant use an iPad, whats the most reliable way to do this?
Currently using Cubase, but its not ideal at all.

In your previous post, you wrote:
iOS supports multiple inputs, but still just stereo out.
This is possible if you encode extra channels with e.g. Dolby ProLogic. However the extra hardware required for the decoding matrix defeats the ease of a simplified setup. I'd stick with a laptop and multi-out interface, but skip Cubase. Rather export 4-channel WAV or .flac files and use a simple media player that supports the multi-channel format.

There's always been some disagreement about stereo tracks used live in regards to whether the stereo is perceived by the audience at all.

Going on the assumption that stereo live is not that important, then I would just recommend summing the backing tracks to the right ch and send the click on the left.

Or sync to midi using an external click device like an old drum machine, then you can keep the backing tracks as is.

I wanted to point out a link which can be useful :

[EDIT]

Camera Connection Kit and a Class compliant USB sound card are required to exploit the multitrack features.
