You've seen nothing yet... there is a digital camera forum I visit and the rumors, rants, and whinges about the NEED for a large sensor (full frame or 'FF' for short) camera body from a particular manufacturer is incredible! Apparently this has been ongoing for the better part of a decade now! During Photokina (very similar to NAMM but for camera/lens makers) recently the forums were taken to another level with every single discussion turning into a 'why we need FF' debate and deep level armchair managing of this company -- even full fledged rumors were created with photoshopped images of the camera 'leaked' that never came into existence [since Photokina is over now]. After that, there are now random folks there 'threatening' to sell their gear and buy another company's product line-up.osiris wrote:You guys sound worse than crackheads needing a fix...
I've never seen so many adults acting like whiny, deprived brats. Someone could get grant money to study it I'm pretty sure.
Oh and I told them to bring it on.. more people jumping ship, cheaper I'm going to get an updated camera body and lenses

NI is launching the new Maschine October 1st so I don't think it would make sense to release Komplete at the same time, getting the new generation of Maschine released as well as 1.8 will keep NI quite busy for the next few weeks and IMO from a marketing perspective releasing 2 major lines at the same time just doesn't make sense.
However what would make sense IMO would be to actually release Komplete 9 November.
This way they'd already have Maschine and 1.8 launched & they could release Komplete9 in time for the holiday season & NAMM and steamroll their way through the holiday season with 2 of the premier NI product lines & maximize sales and the NI presence in the marketplace.
So my bet is we will have a Komplete November.

Last time they abandoned Kore, translated all of the Kore sample sets I had purchased from NI into another format, and then put them into the upgrade to sell to me again.
I don't know if I am ready for another update.

All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

i won komplete 5 + kore2 in a contest from a retailer. totally random. entered my info on their internet form and 3 months later got a phone call telling me the good news. a month later the next version of komplete was out.
so, when retailers start having contests to win komplete + maschine (or something) from NI then you can bet the next version of komplete is around the corner.
they seem to do the contest thing here and there. NI is actually doing one on twitter right now and you can win komplete/maschine/traktor controller thing etc etc etc..
maybe not a fool proof indicator of when the next version will be out but is another thing to factor in to the equation for those who just have to know.
i tend to take the taoist approach.. it'll be out when it's out. and i don't really care anyways and likely will not upgrade from komplete 7 for years.

If that poo is 64 bit kompatible then I might get it!tehlord wrote:tenshin111 wrote:What would they put in K9 that is not in K8 (Ultimate)? I don't think anything major has been recently released by NI that would require a new Komplete package.
Massive 2?
Something new?
A pile of poo?
But seriously, I think it is way too early for a new Komplete package. K8 Ultimate is just so...komplete. On the other hand, they could introduce some discounts for Komplete owners willing to invest into NI hardware...that would be nice!

Anyone notice Native Instruments just updated the box art of Komplete 8, including giving it a new logo? (And that it's still Komplete 8...)
