The looks like a very handy sampler
Q: How do I drag a set of "Note-named) samples into the Mapper and get each one on its own key? Even simpler, how do I get a sample onto a single key? (My attempts map it over many notes and place the root key oddly).
Q: If I have some samples in the Sample Editor, how do I map them in the Mapping Editor (I deleted the Zones that were set up when the samples were loaded as there were multiple samples in the same Group)
--------------
FR: In the File Browser (on Windows) do not show the hidden / System folders, such as $RECYCLE.BIN, RECYCLER and System Volume Information.
FR: Ability to name the octaves on the mini keyboard; currently it is C0 to G10, I would like C-2 to G8 or C-1 to G9
FR: Ability to change the brown/orange zone colours in the Keyboard Mapper (as a Setup choice)
FR: And if it could load and slice RX2 files ...

Yes, the mapping view could show the octaves correctly, it doesn't show which C is where, so that's confusing. It also seems that you cannot click on the root note key to make it play that note (it looks a bit weird, too, some drawing issues there).
Also the scrollbars and zoom +/- buttons are way too small :/
Also, it seems that this way of mapping is not possible? It would be so helpful if it were possible to map multiple samples with this kind of flexibility.

For some reason on my Win7 64bit system... the UI doesn't display properly. I can't see the text, elements of the UI is compacted & out of alignment.I Tried FL studio-10, Sonar X1, Magix music maker, with the same result.

If samples are without root key definition (pitchless, i.e drums), dragging them into the key mapper should automatically map them on single keys (see setup->settings->"Keyboard range for mapping non-pitched sounds" to change to 2,3 whatever).sinkmusic wrote: Sorry, i was unclear : i meant "...a bunch of one shot samples".
I would like to grab a bunch of one shot samples from the browser, and it would assign each of them to a single key of the keyboard (then, if i want i still can change the mapping, but still it would be done in a fast & automatic way.
Is it possible yet ?
If you drag a pitched sound, it will be laid out depending on placement and root key. To force pitchless, single-key mapping, you can hold the ALT key while dropping the samples.
Also, you can manually determine the range of the created sample mapping by first dragging the samples to where you want the group to start (low key), then, holding SHIFT drag to where you want the high key.
Being only one person its a little outside what I think I can manage, but who knows what might pop up from a third party. I am certainly not adverse to neither cooperation nor other people making tools or sounds for the TX.sinkmusic wrote: Did you consider making some cheap but payware 3d party content (like sample libraries or "enabling" some sample format for reading or export, or, like in this case, a "Blofeld export" option, etc ?
Not yet, but editing based on loop or other range is on the todo list. The intention is to be able to make a sample-range selection and cut/copy/paste/transform this. Right now, editing is performed on the START->END range.sinkmusic wrote: Ah, and thank you for having a sampler which actually samples... and audio editing features !
Can we copy/paste parts from a slice into another slice (for instanace, take the 3d slice from a loop, and insert or paste it into the 4th slice slot of another loop ?
The step sequencers have a 'random' function to create wild stepping patterns.sinkmusic wrote: Does it have some randomization features ?
TX16Wx Pro will also feature 'random' as modulation sources and trigger selectors.

Which version of cubase? Last time I checked with my (now shelved) copy of C4 it had no issues, but I'll check again...Mac of BIOnighT wrote:Thank you very much for this awesome instrument!
I have a little bug report, though: with Cubase SX - windows XP sp2, the stereo channels appear in the mixer as two separate mono channels, one of which is much louder.
Everything else seems to work.

Don't apologize. I welcome (polite) feedback. Turning of MIDI note names is not currently possible, and quite frankly I spent much more time trying to ensure that it would show _correct_ names instead!EvilDragon wrote:Is there a way to disable the plugin reporting sample names to piano roll keys? Kinda looks too busy in Reaper here:
Also seems that plugin outputs aren't named correctly:
Wouldn't it be:
S1
S2
S3
etc.
instead of how it is currently?
Sorry for nitpicks, but you'll get them more and more as soon as you open your forum.
But I'll make a note to add the switch.
That output issue is weird, especially since reaper picks up the bus configuration correctly on plugin load (4*S + 8*M). Oh, well, I'll check what (rather undocumented) flag it misinterprets. Expect a fix for next beta release.

I've had one other person with similar issues since public launch. (None in the closed beta, so its apparently not super common). Something weird going on with your version of Direct2D (GUI drawing). In truth, I could really use either a local repro, or a remote debugging session to try to pinpoint it.pc2000 wrote:For some reason on my Win7 64bit system... the UI doesn't display properly. Could be ... is the a list somewhere, so that I can avoid repetition?makerprofaze wrote:Hhmm... seems like a bombardment of requests you may have heard before. Folks are looking for the best of The World. Who can blame?

Meanwhile:
Q: can I change the knobs to vertical knob control (circular mode is used at present)?
Q: There are 48 VST parameters (over and the 32 Vol and 32 Pan parameters; how do I map those parameters to a knob etc? Also, what do the 32 Vol and 32 Pan parameters control?

My worry is when using the plugin multitimbrally. What would it show when several instruments are assigned to the same MIDI channel? I presume chaos. I'd much rather not have these note names at all to avoid confusion (and have a cleaner look). Thanks for adding the switch, whenever that happens.elcallio wrote:Don't apologize. Oh, while we're at the topic of switches (those in Setup mode), they're rather confusing since both on and off positions have the checkmark symbol. It would be much better if off state didn't have the checkmark (so, empty), and on state glows along with the checkmark.
Thanks! It's really a small niggle, nothing that big (what matters is that outputs themselves work correctly).elcallio wrote:That output issue is weird, especially since reaper picks up the bus configuration correctly on plugin load (4*S + 8*M). By the way, it would make sense when we disable certain outputs, that their VU meters on the main interface are hidden, too.

This looks nice. I hope I don't have issues on Win 7 64 bit. I see you can save presets, but can you make an SFZ of Sf2 with it?
If you can't, since it says it can automatically find loop points, can it save a wave with the loop points in it? It would be a very useful tool to making SFZ's if you could. Thanks for this.

Looks great, elcallio.
I have high hopes for this one. GUI looks magnificent. Excellent choice of colours, so it's easy on the eyes. That's great for a start. Now onto some DSP programming!
Sample editor looks great, too. Real sampling [recording audio] is a wonderful addition! This has a really great potential!
Akai S1000, S3000 and EMU [Roland and Ensoniq, too?] sample formats would be utterly welcome and useful!
Having DFD implies using big sample libraries... I somehow don't see it useful for TX16W as it's more like real samplers used to be, no? Make use of all the available RAM and that's it. If we're talking 64bit, than RAM shouldn't be an issue at all, and it's cheap these days. Personally, I like tweaking samples, not assembling huge, multisampled, "real" sounds, so I don't care about DFD, either, just having a lot of tweaking features/tools at disposal...
a few different HP/LP/BP/AP resonant filters [6/12/18/24dB], or/and an SVF one, granular features, time-stretching, pitch-shifting, FM and PD synthesis?, capable modulation matrix, flexible LFOs, a few different saturation/distortion algos. I kinda don't care about the common FX like chorus/delay/phaser and especially reverb, since we can always load a plugin for that and the on-board ones are usually of sub-par quality to those. However, having a chorus/delay FX at least are kinda obligatory, eh?
Thank you, elcallio! All the best with this!
Cheers!

Cubase SX 1.0.5.61 - very old, so the issue might be with the DAW and not the instrument, I've had similar problems with a handful of instruments...elcallio wrote:Which version of cubase?
