Can anyone explain... just confused with licensing laws generally..

Isnt it the use of the program which breaks the EULA and not the creation/distribuition of the patcher?

Just asking out of interest...

I've been trying to get my libs organized in Kontakt and it's a pain in the butt to have to deal with the provisions they've got going in there now.

Whenever you have time, it seems like a super-useful patch.

Go suck a lemon, software licenses are Draconian at best. Balls to what the developers think I should do with it, I'll do whatever the heck I want to what I use if it'll make my life easier. I already have to tolerate their shitty invasive protection schemes, I'm not going to tolerate gimping my rig because they're too stupid to figure out a better design for simpler operations they overlook in their quest for bloat and feature creep.

A user has made a vast improvement to the software, and you think it should be shut down because it violates what some dicks in suits think we owe them on top of what we paid already. Get bent.

Hello Project 16,
could you pm me how to set this up - I would like to organise my own libraries and see them in the library view. I have seen other methods to do this, but they mess with registrys and I don't want to mess with them in case it screws my machine. I don't think NI will mind people doing this for their own libraries, I can't see how it would upset them.

Not to beat a dead horse but I found this funny.

While searching how to add non commercial libraries to Kontakt I came across this post. After being amused by our own little whistle blower "EvilDragon" I moved on to a post on the NI website found here.That's slightly older than this one.

There's a guy on there named EvilDragon talking about the same thing with a slightly different point of view however.

Registry is not actually owned by NI, it is unique to each computer configuration.

It is definitely in the "grey area" - since NI is using the same way of using registry when a KP library is being added. I would really like to use something like this for my own personal use for my libraries on my computer(I don't think NI would have a problem with individuals taking it on themselves to tweak their own computers/Kontakt).
An email to NI would clear this up.

kvr at its best.........sigh......you do not own software you buy, you purchase a license to use it, with certain guidelines specified by the developer..
if those guidelines are too draconian or you disagree with it, its simple, don't purchase the license.
