Too bad about this one, but this brings to mind the nature of hardware samplers - in particular a machine like the original TX, and that's Templates. You could painstakingly set up general mappings for different purposes (drums, octave splits, ect) then use a common Exernal CC or Host Automation parameter to control the same modulation in for all the samples. This workaround would have shortcomings obviously, but if your template is designed well you'd just load it up and replace the samples (maybe even have blank placeholders in the groups instead of actual samples). I think the factor here would be to use the same CC/Automation throughout assigned to the same modulation. Lots of work but could be feasible?

I'm going to experiment with this one. Filtereing all the samples in a drum kit for instance is a normal enough effect.

Copying modulation table between groups, as well as the modulation preset facility should make it fairly painless to quickly setup many groups with the same table. Also remember that if you simply select all your groups and either tweak sound parameters or change a mod table, this will apply to all selected. No need to do each group at a time.

As I tried to say, I don't dismiss the idea of having a "higher" level modulators, perhaps additive. But given the time, manpower and money constraints given, I don't think you should expect me to be able to address something like that very soon.
Cheers

A global filter would be easily enough part of FX structure for sure.

I think that if you mean media bay and similar in cubase, the problem is that Cubase does not send those drag and drops as actual files, only steinberg internal data. Thus there is not really much I can do... :-P[/quote]

that was an fast answer :)
btw it was the media bay.
thats sad that its internal data :( but you are not the only one with this issue. i wonder why it is working in shortcircuit1.

i am glad that you have a really nice browser (with autoplay) in your sampler so it isnt a deal breaker. is it possible to save the path where the browser is in? for example i load a sample from instance 1 and when i open another instance the browser is still in this folder?

No expectations, I enjoy the 'workarounds'. Finding a method is part of the fun.

I don't understand about the MediaBay though. V1 is capable of dnd from there.

mmhh...
if i have a program with multiple groups and every group has i.e. differen Env decay values and i want to change all decays proportionally. i think that an Env at program level would work perfectly.

Post

This would be icing on the cake indeed.
Being able to set up different decay values for each sample, but being also able to change the whole kit's decay/pitch/cutoff value at once.
In BlueCat MB5 DYnamix, it is called relative or absolute, and i use it all the time.

... Maybe an assignable "global" knob for the Pro version in the FX section ? ;)

. What you are describing is pretty much a soundfont approach (separate keyzone + program modulation), which I am not wholly on board with, being more old school than that. ;-)

i'm pretty old school to. i used to deal with akais (S900 and S950 ) and atari computers doing a lot of Midi

You still may be able to achieve this with the offsetting of the master modulation values, but I haven't tried this yet. And as elcallio mentioned, you can highlight all in the listing and change all values at once with the mouse manually. I think that should retain proportion.

Plus, it seems it may get added in due time.

Hi,

I'd like to know if we can save as SFZ format, or must we still rely on old SFZed or text editor?... (cannot test it before this weekend)

That plugin looks good by the way.

Thanks

'Fraid not - you can save a Bank, Performance or Program, they are all in .XML syntax

Haha. Good thing you reminded me. Looking at the v1 code I notice I _did_ add support for Cubase Media Bay (which reports dragged files as an xml snippet). I should do that for the TXv2 as well... :-)

I still have to test this thing, but something I didn't see in the specs, and I kind of miss from a... well, TG16W inspired sampler/instrument: the low-quality modes.

By that I do not mean that either the EMU, the AKAI, Dynacord, Yamaha, etc samplers were all crap - but I miss the 12bit/14bit sound, with limited frequency response (22kHz, 30-something kHz, etc).

If that mode could be activated as additional module, this would definitely be cool.

I also love the Reaper price model here. More developers should do this.

Is there a new beta coming out soon? :)

Also: Having bought it and put the file where it should be (i hope), is there yet a way to verify that it is the pro version i have? It says Free version in the UI but it's still beta so ...

Main reason i ask for new version of beta is that i think i've encountered a bug where i can't add new groups or channels ... but that might have been sorted already. It's probably quite hard to reproduce it!

edit: i just managed to do it. All i did was drag'n'drop files from explorer (win7) and after the third one black boxes started to appear and after that adding groups/channels/whatever-else-there-may-be stopped working
