sealpt wrote:Hi all,

I'm new to the Ipad and all that is involved. I have a question about things like Alchemy (which I love on my mac by the way). On the Ipad, when you get these stand alone synths, what are they used for? I mean they aren't used as plug ins for some other host program like Logic (not the Ipad has Logic, but you know what I mean).

I guess that Alchemy for instance has no internal sequencer as far as I can see, at least the free version. So do you just audio out these things into an audio interface and record tracks into a DAW, or what exactly do you do?

I understand that Audiobus will change the game when it's finally released and the whole game will change for the better, but in the mean time, how do you use Alchemy?

I really want to buy the full version, but to what end?

Excuse my ignorance as I'm new at the whole thing.

Thank you,
Shawn
Hi Shawn,

You may not have a sequencer, but you are able to load your backing track and play your audio part along with it, and then export your audio part and put it into your composition.

This all sounds very powerful. I'm really excited about the whole concept.

These are 2 of the largest sound libraries because of the number of samples:

Dream Voices: 220 MB
Guitar Mutations: 222 MB

Peace,
Andy.
Thanks Andy, I appreciate it! :-)

Thanks for that. Bought both libraries at that price, however I like Guitar Mutations the most. :tu:

Bought both. Great value. I will upgrade to full version when/if there comes a sale. Wasn't quick enough the first time around.

I just downloaded the free, then after 20 minutes, bought pro version and dubstep and dark space sound sets. This synth is really dynamite. User interface is laid out very nicely with essential controls for sound mangling right there and absolutely non-confusing. I like the backing track feature for play along recording. This is a really lush sounding synth and has some very musical sound sets so far. I guess I'll probably buy the others soon enough. Very impressed and compared to what I paid for some other iOS synths, the price and add-ins are reasonable for such good sound. I would like to see more synths like this and Sunrizer, Animoog, etc come around. Get this one if you want some tweakable sounds and easy controls.
