Do you want it by dropbox, it was an extremely simple wav file that I wanted to try the slice function with.elcallio wrote:Please send any info / files you have. I did notice that reaper as well as cubase causes the 800x600 and 1024x600 resolutions to clip the bottom of the screen. Weird. Will check. Might have to hotfix this.Psychiatric Nurse wrote:Even the newest version seems to crash REAPER in a way that I can't even terminate the process structure.
That is going to be a bit annoying. I can send you the files if you want.
But I wont try to reproduce myself.
I was just tinkering around with the slices until I wanted to delete the file and intended to reload to start once again -> led into crash.
And that was weird - never saw REAPER behave like that - spooky ghosted graphics and nothing I could do, so shut down the computer and start again.
That is too much for me to risk this again.
ah...here are my specs - Win7 64, Reaper 32

Dropbox is fine. I'm guessing the process got caught in a sound driver call or something. Did you try killing it through task manager?Psychiatric Nurse wrote:Do you want it by dropbox, it was an extremely simple wav file that I wanted to try the slice function with.elcallio wrote:Please send any info / files you have. Update: I've uploaded a hotfix for the resolution issue. That one was such a "do'h" on my part I can't believe it. Download and install again. Same file name (has not been live that long...)
Still waiting on files trying to repro whatever issue there might be with reaper crashes. Cannot immediately repro here at least. More info please if anyone has it.

v2.0.1287.358
The sample/loop numerics are fast again - maybe too fast, but no complaints (Thanks). Slower steps with shift held down. Forgive me, but don't forget to document the switch in the PDF (if it isn't already)
I notice that the < and > arrows to step sample/loop start/end register/move the points on mouse down as well as mouse up.

Once you are done sample mapping and getting things just the way you want them, can this then be used to export to multisample formats, such as SFZ, SF2, etc?
Can one layer sounds in the sampler mapper? NOT velocity layering, but actually layer samples so that you can make new samples from two or more layers.
Can this zone sample layers so that certain zones play on defined areas of the keyboard (ie. bass sounds play on lower octaves, strings or soundscapes on middle octaves and leads or keys on upper octaves)?
This seems like a really great product. I look forward to your reply.
Mike

TX16Wx saves to its own format, which is fuly documented and has provided XSD schemas in the installation.Karmacomposer wrote:Once you are done sample mapping and getting things just the way you want them, can this then be used to export to multisample formats, such as SFZ, SF2, etc?
SF2, SFZ etc cannot express all capabilities (mainly modulation) of TX16Wx made sounds, so saving in these formats would be at best a partial export.
Don't know what you mean by "making new sounds", but groups can overlap, i.e layer, yes of course.Karmacomposer wrote: Can one layer sounds in the sampler mapper? NOT velocity layering, but actually layer samples so that you can make new samples from two or more layers.
Likewise, groups can be set to key ranges, i.e only play on certain areas of key boards. You can also limit the play range of a sound by editing the program key/velocity range.Karmacomposer wrote: Can this zone sample layers so that certain zones play on defined areas of the keyboard (ie. bass sounds play on lower octaves, strings or soundscapes on middle octaves and leads or keys on upper octaves)?

I've played with the file quite a bit, and deleted it to my hearts content...Psychiatric Nurse wrote: Here is the file, can't tell much more about it. Yes I tried to kill it via task manager -> did not succeed shut down windows.

No crashes. I will continue investigating, but you might have turned up some really weird fluke.

Hi, later on I was fiddling around with the REAPER project again.elcallio wrote: I've played with the file quite a bit, and deleted it to my hearts content...

I had no instance of TX16Wx loaded and it crashed again in a way.....
I had 1 instance of TAL Noisemaker and 1 instance of Drumatic 3 (synthedit which is generally a bit suspicious (imo))
So chances are TX16Wx is note the one to blame.....but I was pretty sure because sinkmusic seemed to confirm.

Well, it is beta, and if I'd suspect anything, its a race in the UI somewhere.Psychiatric Nurse wrote:Hi, later on I was fiddling around with the REAPER project again.elcallio wrote: I've played with the file quite a bit, and deleted it to my hearts content...

When these things happen, getting detailed steps taken to reproduce it is vital, including how you edited, used scroll wheel etc.
Really sorry you're having problems, but I hope we can find the cause.

Thanks for addressing the zoom on sample issue. It works, but it's a little jumpy. Sometimes it will zoom to the left or right of the pointer, but sometimes it zooms on point. Still, its better than before.
I always wanted a good sample editor in a sampler, not seen too often. You're getting there! Good day

Got it, thank you.elcallio wrote:1.) When dragging samples with root key info, TX16Wx will by default map them according to root. To bypass this, either disable pitch-mapping entirely in settings, or simply hold the ALT key while dropping the samples to force pitch-less (single key) mapping.DarkStar wrote:OK, I must be missing something simple.
How do I get a sample to be mapped to only one key? In the screenshot below, I selected 4 samples (in pitch order) and dragged and dropped them into the Keyboard Mapper:
-- the first sample was mapped over 2 octaves (and has 2 different names in its map area,
-- the second and third to one key each,
-- and the fourth to 6 keys.

Also:
(a) if I delete a Group, the samples still remain loaded; how do I get them from the Sample Editor back into the Keyboard Mapper again?
(b) Note the graphics glitch in the Group (above C4)
(c) the sample sizes in the Browser are not very meaningful - the C#3 is 1,833KB, the B4 is 1,097KB; both are listed as 1M
(d) if I view a sample in the Sample Editor I get a .reapeaks file created in my sample folder!
-- while the view is similar to a Reaper .reapeaks file, should the same file extension be used?
-- and I would welcome the option to put these files in a defined location, so that I can delete them all easily.
2.) Simply drag the samples from the sample list in sample editor to the key mapper.
3.) I am aware of that glitch, its weird. Windows leaves a bit of the mouse pointer. I do not control it in any meaningful way...But I'll work on it.
4.) Noted. Sizes should probably be 1.8Mb etc
5.) The reapeaks files created are (or should be) fully compatible with reaper created ones (uses the reaper peak format, since its at least documented.
Peak files in specific folders is not exposed as a setting yet. Its coming...
(1) Yes, the samples did not have the root key embedded in them; once I had done that (in another program) I could drag them to the single key. Also, I confused myself as the samples were named 1 octave lower than the the names used in TX16Wx.
(2) At first I could not see how to do that as the two are on separate tabs; I then found that I could drag the samples from the Sample Editor to the Keyboard Mapper tab (where I see a "entry forbidden " sign), then the Mapper is displayed and I can drop the selected samples in it.
