Same thing happened with the RTAS version. The two files included in the .rar are:

The Drop.dpm
The Glue.dpm.rsr

Coping both to my DAE plugins folder, and renaming the second file to "The Drop.dpm.rsr" fixed it.

Aside from that, I've been trying to break it in PT 10.3 (on W7x64 i5) for about an hour now with no luck. Sounds great, though, and the CPU hit is not bad at all.

Has Andy stated what other filters are coming with the full release?
The current filter is a model of a Korg MS20 rev2, the one with the LM13600 Dual OTA chips.

The final product will have:
* Sallen Key (more CPU friendly version but with less character)
* Sallen Key MS1 (based on the Korg MS20 rev1 / MS10 filter)
* Sallen Key MS2 (based on the Korg MS20 rev2 - this is the only one currently present)
* Cascade (more CPU friendly version but with less character)
* Cascade SH (based on the Roland SH 9 done with an IR3109 chip)
* Ladder (more CPU friendly version but with less character)
* Ladder PR (based on the Moog Prodigy)

Now The Drop allows you to select 2 and 4 pole for both the high pass and low pass filters, so I've had to design my own circuits to model for a few of these.

A more important note is that I am not modelling the non-linearties of the final Amp stages of any of these synths, I am only modelling the filters. I felt this is the best idea for a stereo filter plugin that people will be using on polyphonic material.

Great filter!
Yep, this is a known issue, I've added it to the list.

I tested it yesterday next to my MS20 Rev 1 , but I can't say The Drop will be able to replace the real thing ..
The difference is still too big and probably will be for the next years to come.

It would be interesting to have a Yamaha CS15/CS30 flavor (one of my favorite filters).

I'm gonna buy it regardless though ...

The only model at the moment is based on the Korg MS20 revision 2, which is a completely different circuit to the earlier revision 1 MS20 (the one used in the MS10). The rev2 uses LM13600 OTA chips and has the resonance clipper in the resonance feedback path, the rev1 uses discrete transistors and has the resonance clipping in the main audio path.

I'll have an MS20 rev1 model in the final product, but I'm going to put the resonance clipper in the feedback path as well like the MS20 rev2 since otherwise your entire audio signal is clipped, which makes the bass sound a bit thin. For a synth like an MS10 that is ok, but it's not ideal for a filter plugin.

I'm also keeping the Amp section completely linear for the same reason. For a synth it can sound good, but this is a filter plugin so the design goals are a bit different.

Thanks for spotting that! All fixed now :) Also thanks for letting me know the RTAS Win build is working, I was worried with the new compiler that it may have been broken - few! Compatibility issues with compilers are horrible things to try and fix, so this is really good news.

It sounds quite good. As I expected, it isn't really usable on my old, underpowered PC. However, I did get some good results just processing a snare drum to create some subtle variations and rendering the track. I think I may buy it just for drum processing.

Andy: The scaling on the Mix knob is odd. Is that intentional?

I've been creating some great sounding kicks with this ............ :)

I think the LFO is causing some clicking between the host buffers. Besides that, everything is sounding great.
The LFO will retrigger every 2 * the length of the lfo in beats by default. Jus switch the "Lfo Source" to "Manual" if you don't want the LFO to automatically re-trigger itself.

The mix knob has fine resolution at the fully wet and fully dry ends so it is easier to mix in a slight amount of wet or dry. This is intentional.

Andy this filter alone is simply inspirational and I really looking forward to the rest.

What hits my ears compared to other s/w ffilters is the smoothness of the sweeps and the sweet spots on the both the highs and lows. Although I do find the high end goes silent on the audio at about 60-70% clockwise, what causes this. Is this inherent on the actual filter or something I am not understand in use?

The envelopes are crazy, can you explain the methods to trigger these please.

Post

Andy, is there a chance to make the envelopes a bit quicker or have a additional parameter (decay)?

Thanks! I've looking forward to finishing off the other models as well now most of the gui stuff is all done.

Not sure what you mean here in terms of going silent, are you talking about the high pass cutoff frequency? Do you have the low pass filter bypassed?

Also what would you like explained about the triggering? Are you talking about the Envelope Mode, or Envelope Source? At the moment the Env1/2 Mode set to Trig is the same as when set to Gate when the Source is Audio or Audio SC, I still need to code a trigger mode from audio sources on the envs, I'll add this to the known issues.

Really nice GUI, nicely laid out and sounds as good as ETCH. As I have etch already I am going to stick with it after comparing these 2 side by side.

Good filter for anyone that doesn't have one yet though.
