Hey KVR's,

Anyways it's time for me to get some new monitors. My Alesis M1 Active 520's surprisingly did a good job for the price but they are starting to die from me mistreating them and its time for some new ones but I am looking at some different models and makes.

I am basically on a rush between the KRK Rokit Series or the Mackie MR's. The room I produce in is 3.5m x 4.25m with no treatment. I only ever produce EDM (Hardstyle & House) so I wanted to know whether or not these are suitable monitors for the genre's in which I do my work in.

Also will the 5" models of these 2 brands be big enough for the size of the room I currently produce in??

Anyone with these monitors let me know how you rate them. Sound, Clarity and Size. Basically tell me if they are nice :P

Thanks!!!

The KRK Rokit series are really not very good. You'll also find that the MAckie MR series are often criticised for being far too bass heavy. Don't be fooled into thinking that plenty of bass is a good thing as it's not.

In a similar pricerange the Tannoy 601A's are excellent. I know this because I bought some recently and they are actually better than a larger, more expensive pair of monitors I had before as my room is untreated too.

+1 for Tannoy 501A/601A/601P. Great monitors!
