Andy, when I increase the drive the overall volume starts to decrease. Any way to minimize/normalize this, or is this just how the filter is designed? Not a hard thing to compensate for with The Drop, but it'd be cool if the volume didn't vary so much.

I honestly have no idea how people can compare the sound of the Drop to any other software filter
I love music but more than that, I love making it

Actually getting the Drive knob to have a perceived volume consistent across its range is a very hard thing to do automatically. With various filters the only safe thing to do is to have the input gain of N dB followed by an output gain of -N dB. Some of the filters models don't drive at all when you sweep the cutoff out of range, so if I didn't normalise exactly the entire signal would be louder. If you are already sending The Drop a hot signal and the volume is dropping too quickly due to the internal drive then I suggest first using the pre to pad -12 dB then the post +12 dB, then the Drive knob should have a more useful range.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:Andy, when I increase the drive the overall volume starts to decrease. Hm...at this point i can only imagine how some other type of FX like Tape or something should/could sound if it was coded by Andy.
Note that i am not trying to hijack thread i just can't avoid the fact that his work is second to perfection on whatever he put his hands/brain on.
Well i just made some birds sing out of my speaker by driving this filter to self oscillation

I can save them but if you hit open there's nothing there. Though the last one i saved is written in the loadbox so if i click load it will load that one.. maybe the others are just invisible.
Amazing work Andy..! Truly amazing

Just a quick question on the current state of the plugin's "public beta"-ness...
Is there any reasonable prospect that:
a) the preset format might change between now and the 1.0 release, which might make presets saved with 0.9.4 not open properly?
b) internal changes might be on the cards which might make sessions saved with 0.9.4 (or other public betas) not recall settings properly?

There is a bug where the "tdp" extension is not added if you save a preset to a file yourself. There are currently no presets with the Beta, I'm in the process of getting them done now I have a GUI that preset designers can use!xh3rv wrote:I can't seem to load presets (OS X AU) - am I supposed to be able to?

If the LFO could track pitch and was set just before the filter, then ......

The LFO can track pitch, but I have deliberately left it out of the audio chain. This is a powerful stereo filter plugin, this is not a synth, but I will do a synth product in the future.Crackbaby wrote:If the LFO could track pitch and was set just before the filter, then ......
