I just gave it a quick run through... All kinds of inspiring sounds, Yeah!I like the presets a lot:) It's got a kinda fat sound but it doesn't sound as warm and analogue as Diva to my ears. It seems more like a hybrid synth that's something between digital and analogue.

Did you try making any of your own sounds for this synth? if it was just for presets I would have zero synths.

I just tried to create a basic SH-101 lead sound and did the same one with TAL Bassline.
I don't hear that LuSH-101 sounds any better. They sound almost 100% identical and i have the feeling that TAL Bassline does even sound a bit better in the low end...

this plugin not doing it for me ,it's not sounding that great and if you put it on high quality it maxis out my 6 core 3.3ghz mac pro at 512 samples when you play a chord with the pad clavia..cpu hog with no sound quality. think ill stay with the uhe diva.

... if D16 are watching ...

The first page of the manual says:

LuSH-101 - High Quality Bit Crusher

Now that the Lush101 is out and it has got some effects that the silverline bundle don't have, I hope D16 will expand their FX range with some new plugins ;)

Diva delivers a lot. This really is a glorified SH-101. If you like SH-101 then it is great, but i would agree that the 101 isn't the most glorious, warm, or rich analog synth ever made. It has more of a niche quality being about the first plastic mono-synth to roam the planet and sounds a bit 80's. It has qualities that I associate with previous years of making music. I want all of that in a software package and this is finally close enough. Like I said, I am already thinking craigslist for my modded 101. LuSH will never go out of tune mid-session!!!!!!

Saying it is better than Diva or any other synth is for sure a bit too early for my taste.

Well it's my personal impression, and i'm blown away! But everyone will have a different impression and meaning about it.

I think through the 8 layers + mixer Lush can do soooo many sounds, which other synth's couldn't do. And specially the basic sounds, this is i guess highly depending on the personal taste. But for me - if a synth give me such impression after half hour playing - it must be good :hihi:

I only tried Lush for 15 minutes and I am tired and off to sleep so will explore more tomorrow... I quite like the sound, but I really find little benefit from multi-timbral synths. I can make 8 layers of any synth in a Live instrument rack and I can do all sorts of layering. So yes, other synths can do those layered sounds too.

I made a few quick sounds I like but I need to explore much more to have a real opinion on the sound.

The thing that struck me is the CPU use

I think it needs a draft mode cause there were plenty of presets I could not play on my i7 quad without crackles and that was in normal mode, not high quality mode... I think quite a few presets would not be playable in realtime without turning off layers (on my computer anyway)

I just created two audio demos using LuSH-101 and TAL Bassline with comparable settings/parameters. No external (and internal) FXs were used:

LuSH-101_Demo 01

TAL Bassline_Demo 01

Don't understand the references/comparisons to other synths that don't sound anything like what a SH-101 sounds like - but whatever :) To me it's an awesome sound and I will have fun layering sounds ;)

I really like LuSH-101 aggressive sound. Filters are nice and there are some options for sound quality. I think this is a winner :)
