Enjoyed those vids, both part-1 and part-2 very much. Thanks 8)

I mixed Ingonator's two ".01" examples together, but even in doing nothing special, simply adjusting the levels of each synths 'color' ~ it was clear to me that they sound really good together. Much more character than either example (offered) alone.

That said: I don't see this (101) jumping to the top of my must-have list any time soon, mainly because my focus is elswhere for some months to come, but I won't discount a potential use for it either as I've been rather inspired of late, to return to my drumming roots, and 'dance' music explorations. This has a place there for sure.

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

TAL-Uno-LX proved that model at the $40.00 USD price point can be successful. Still interested in hearing Lush up against a real 101.

My first impressions:

-Lacks a bit in the low side compared to Diva.
-Therefore I didn't fell in love with the lead and bass sounds. Some of them were very good though.
-Some very neat FX sounds.
-When I got to the Poly sounds I started to find real gems. For example loved the lush church organ patches!
-Very CPU hog. Def in the same league than Diva.

Not bad but not something I have to buy. I may buy it but probably not for a long time.

But it's not a f*cking Diva clone  :x

Well of course not. I just did some comparison to VA I'm using the most. I don't want it to be Diva. I still hope it would sound a bit fatter in the low end. Maybe it's easy to work around with some layering techniques or so.

It's just if you want to cover all possible analog sounds LuSH-101 won't be enough. You still need something like Oxium to cover some of the sounds. But on the other hand LuSH-101 complements some of the best VAs around very nicely so I'm happy we got it. The layering gives you almost ultimate possibilites but the price is that you need a very powerful modern computer to get the full advantage of it.

Could have sworn I had a real account..

Anyway, i am real, honest... look..

Ok, I don't play with presets. Personally I might look at one or two and then it's get to grip with the thing.

So... I just spent 15 minutes playing with it and personally I love it. I'm not interested in a 101. I guess I just don't do that kind of stuff much, so I was taking it at full face value as its own beast.

It's a monster.

The synthesis engine is intuitive, the sounds are great if a little weak in the low end (not like that's an issue, I have a million synths that can make a good low end sine wave). Because of the nature of the layering it's easy to use as a drum synth as well as anything else.

For me... Well, I've bought it already...

I will be spending an extended session on it tonight getting to grips with it and probably making something to throw on soundcloud. 8)

Ok but dont forget people are very polarized with their opinion of a 101's low end. I personally love it, but others think it has no balls whatsoever. So if LuSH is like this, and it sounds like it is, then i'm buying the engagement ring today :D

You cant't get close with TAL-Bassline, the envelopes are kind of ... flabby.

LuSH-101 behaves exactly like the real thing.
Hi,

just tested this and doing such kicks with TAL Bassline does not really work indeed. For doing Kick Drums LuSH-101 is better indeed.
Anyway as the architecture is quite similar i tried doing such sound with TAL U-NO-LX and the results are quite nice.

For doing "normal" Lead sounds the difference seems to be much smaller.

Why nobody mentions GForce ImpOSCar2 when they talk about Analog/Hardware sounding Synths?

I have to admit I'm very much looking forward to playing with it as a drum synth.

I think it'll work really well.

Godknows. Great little synth.

It was the beta testers posting before the release who first brought up the comparison - 'in the same league as' type of thing - a comparison that doesn't do Lush any favours, imo.

(Besides, everything gets compared to 'f**king' Diva these days - them's the rules.)
