This video that Stretta (he of Monome fame) put together for Vintage Synth Explorer shows the full gamut of timbres you can get out of the SH-101 to good effect, including some wonderful bass sounds.dalor wrote:Again, from what I remember, the low end "bass" was anything *but* impressive. The 50hz hum was more prominent than its bass itself.metrosonic wrote:This is after all modelled on the SH-101 which was an absolute beast of a bass machine.
Please d16 post some SH-101/LuSH comparison examples to get this once and for all clarified.
Getting back to the LuSH-101, I would have been more than happy with all the extra features that D16 have added if only they had managed to nail the basic emulation in the first place.

I'll clarify it for you....they didnt nail it. No closer to a 101 than anything else out there.dalor wrote:Again, from what I remember, the low end "bass" was anything *but* impressive. No...it really does not emulate the 101 very well. It has its own sound....

As i have mentioned several times already Saurus got exactly the perfect combination of sound quality, features, GUI, CPU use and also price for my taste.TheoM wrote: am playing with tone2 saurus right now and i actually prefer it and it uses 1/5th if that of the cpu.
There are for sure other synths that excel in one or more of those categories but in combination of all those Saurus is really excellent.
The 3 soundsets which are released for it so far (two at Tone2 and one from Himalaya) are just awesome IMO.

Hi Theo. You know I haven't noticed any unpredictable clicks, so I can assume that the phase start is not free running, or even if it still free then not that really prominent. Otherwise it could be pain in the ass to program some kicks on it.TheoM wrote:@Igro that's interesting and i never thought to check that as i find alot of synth fail with super fast attack with unpredictable clicks.. are you saying lush don't have such issues?
that makes it more interesting

Maybe they didn't nail it but it's certainly the closest i've heard so far and I have a real 101 right next to me that i'm using almost daily.Kriminal wrote:I'll clarify it for you....they didnt nail it. Tried the demo.
It's me or the cutoff is terribly steppy?
(Perhaps i had to use "ctrl" or "alt" combined with mouse?)

It is very steppy, I mentioned it already in this thread before. Weird that nobody else noticed it ..raikard233 wrote:Tried the demo.

Well, to me Synth1 is a different sounding character altogether....dalor wrote:Estimated post countdown before a Synth-1 comparison: less than 40

It did not seem to step here as much but it is noticeable...penguinfromdeep wrote:It is very steppy, I mentioned it already in this thread before. Weird that nobody else noticed it ..raikard233 wrote:Tried the demo.
