ReCycle doesn't open or create refills. ReCycle opens wav, aif and REX files, and creates REX files. These can be used in a number of applications for matching and manipulating loops and beats. One such program is Reason, with its Dr. Rex device. Reason is the program that saves and opens ReFills, and these ReFills can contain anything from synthesizer patches, to samples and sequences for use int he various Reason devices.

I used to have a Lite version as well, but I don't remember if it created REX files...Wouldn't be much use if it didn't though...you don't really need to open REX files in Orion, as the Sampler can chop the loops ReCycle style...but yeah, it can open REX2 if you have some lying around.vurt wrote:does orion now support rex?

I've got that as well, although I've never really used it. If memory serves, the version of ReCycle Lite (there are three different versions I think) that came with the Audigy can only deal with mono files and exports the sliced beat as a bunch of soundfonts with an accompanying midi file.vurt wrote:does orion now support rex?

I think there is a version that came with Cubase that exported REX files, but I could be wrong here. The only version of Cubase I've ever owned was the crash-happy piece of shit version of Cubasis that came with my Audigy
