Hi,
can anybody elaborate how to change the MIDI Channel on the 4 parts in IK Sampletank ?

When I try to look up the manual, it tells me 'you have to register in order to view the manual'
I'm a paying customer and they don't allow me to view the manual for a product I bought.
I know IK is full of shit, but this really proves it. No interest to register.

Anyway, maybe somebody figured it out and can help me :)

Hi. When you are in the parts mode, each part has a little channel number in the upper right corner. This is the current MIDI Channel. As you tap this number it will increase in value.

Also, keep in mind you must have the sounds activated in order to hear them. When you click on a patch, it will light up red. This activates the sound. When selecting several MIDI channels, you may want to select multiple patches at once. You do this by tapping on several at once.

The manual is available from within the app (question mark icon). We can put it into your User Area once you register otherwise we have no way to know that you are a SampleTank iOS user unless you register it with us since the App Store is Apple's and we don't get that information to cross-reference against any existing IK account. Sorry that you feel we are full of [**]it based on this.

Sorry there, [Mod edit: personal remark removed] but this IS a **it way of doing this.
I don't have any apps, regardless of category, that forces me to register to obtain the user manual for a paid product. Holy stars . :?

Ah, the personal attacks. Glad you had time to stop by, always a pleasure to see you are willing to take the time to try to slam us. Getting the manual without registering seems to work, since we have a free version too - not to mention that the manual is included within both paid and free versions. No registration needed, tin foil hat not included. You can read the manual from within that Free app for... wait for it... FREE. Holy stars indeed!

Who said anything about the manual not being free?!

I've just downloaded the free Sampletank version. I would appreciate if you could tell me how to get to the manual without have to register.

Ah I thought I covered that in here, I will re-read and hope I did but either way - Question mark icon in the app, then tap the "User's Manual" button (there will be four choices - Quick Start Guide, User's Manual, Info/Legal, Cancel).

Edit - I see I did cover it but not in the detail as above, hope that helps more.

I could reply and highlight the "without register" parts from this thread for you. But at this point I don't think that would help much either.

I do see what you mean now, I thought within the app didn't require registration but that's for the Quick Start Guide only. I've forwarded this but also you may want to use a throwaway email in the mean time. I still don't see the problem with registering your software, but again I've forwarded your request onward now that I see where you are coming from with that.

EDIT - I've also PM'd additional thoughts, please give that message a review too in addition tot his thread. Thanks!

Although I am a registered IK user...
There should be a PDF manual readily available to anyone. No need to jump through hoops for this kind of thing.

I use manuals for gear I don't own because I am a sound engineer and need to help people with their gear all of the time.

I don't understand why it isn't easier to get a copy.

Personally, I like downloading PDFs and having docs always available in iBooks. Putting these online foe easy access will be helpful.

I'm the first to call them out for blatant shillery, but dude, they came on this thread TO HELP YOU, THEIR CUSTOMER!
Putting them on ignore is cutting off your nose to spite your face.

That said, why would anyone want to prevent potential customers from reading a users manual? I rarely make a purchase without reading up on it first.

Thanks, and coming to this thread is how I was able to forward customer/potential customer ideas and concerns to people in the company who wouldn't have otherwise heard these ideas and concerns.

Edit - and as usual, what you mention perpetrates the apparent fact that on KVR you are allowed to break the rules with personal attacks and name calling when IK or its employees are the target. Seems an interesting and ongoing interpretation of the rules.
