Yep, it's up there already :)

does "...or you can choose to utilize the custom sample length ability for synthesizers which support larger or smaller size waveforms." mean that you can export to any size waveform, without limit?
Yeah, pretty much - TBH I haven't actually tested it out with anything larger than 8192, but in theory, it should be possible to export really any size I guess :)

Any other bugs that haven't been mentioned here yet? We're working on fixing the UI displacement bug. Should we also change the node creation operation to left-click? I can't see why we shouldn't but maybe I'm missing something..

If there are any other issues I've forgotten about, please do let me know.

Anyone have a current issue of CM Magazine? Apparently there was an article about Wave Designer and I'd like to get my hands on it..

I think they said it "...sounds more analog than Diva", but I'll have to check.

[edit] Issue #182, I don't have Issue #183 yet, though it is out. :(
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

I have the latest issue (#184) and didn't saw anything. But there's was something in issue #181 in the News section, page 10. Here's a capture:

I've checked both issue #183 and #184 and didn't find anything. Maybe next issue, #185?

Hi Reason,

i just wanted to say that WaveDesigner is really a sound designers dream. I have now used lots of the waveforms i created (mostly with the formula editor) with a synth i am currently beta testing. Several of them also included the use of the new "Noise" function in combination with other functions. This is perfect for doing random waveforms /within a certain shape if other waveforms are included), not just "pure" Noise.

I also found that by experimenting with the fourmula editor you could get results you would maybe never have thought off when using the node editor for free drawing.

Like others mentioned it would be cool if the result of the formula editor could be copied to the node editor for further editing. Maybe for that you would have to define how many "points" should be used for the transfer.

I am sure that Wave Designer will be a standard tool for me in the future.

PS:
As a kind of "tribute" i have called a preset for that new synth "Reasonable Lead"... :)

Hehe, we all know that Wave Designer sounds so much more analog than Diva :D

Hey, thanks for the screenshot! I didn't realize they published that - that was really nice of them! :)

Thanks Ingo, I'm gonna steal this and put it on the website shortly if you don't mind :) and thanks for the preset name too!

We're not going to be doing any new feature updates for a bit cos I ran out of money. We're working on making sure that the app is bug-free right now and then when I get more cash, I'll add more features :) Unfortunately nobody (save a few individuals) really talks about my projects elsewhere like they do for companies like IK or whatever.

Milk the sponsor! :D

Yeah, they've put quite a bit into this already unfortunately. I designed them some product boxes and trade show displays so far, but I don't know what else I could help them with :(

I'd suggest to make yourself (and internally for others) a good roadmap (that means a good plan at all, not an unsorted textfile) for the upcoming features, and go to some magazines for another preview etc. Maybe include a special version for CM users with upgrade discounts or whatever... just don't let the project die! Go catch some users! :)

When I create a project, I do indeed design detailed schematics and spec lists, diagrams and operation possibilities. This project was somewhat of an exception because it started out as an internal tool, but after talking it over and doing some research, I realized that there really isn't anything out there that did even the simplest form of what Wave Designer does. I knew it needed more features to really be popular, so that's when I created this thread to get more suggestions and community involvement.

After receiving all of these feature requests and format suggestions, I redesigned the layout and schematics to make it a bit more future-proof, and that's where we're at right now :) Only problem is, not _that_ many people have purchased it, and it really still needs more features to be popular with a larger audience. It also needs a lot of marketing, which I can't really do right now either due to a lack of funds to do so, so I'm really just restricted to word-of-mouth advertising, which doesn't work so well unless you have a ton of users who are so amped up about a project that they go spreading the word with everyone they know. A few companies seem to excel at gaining "fanboys" and having them do a majority of talking about a project, but I'm not too well liked around these parts and people don't normally get excited about much I do (except maybe stay quiet for a while, hehe :D )

So, with all that in mind, I'm waiting to see if I can acquire a loan to get the rest of the main features and export formats included. If I can get a decent loan, I'll be able to move faster along. If not, I'm really relegated to just making a few sales and applying those sales to the project as the funds come in.

I am sure i'll use it a lot in my future projects and i hope it could get a bit bit more popular by that. Let's see how many presets (based on Wave Designer waveforms) for that new synth i'm testing will make it into the final selection.

So far i could not post any demos at it's still secret.

For those who are uncertain i could say you could alraedy do lots of stuff with the current version. Anyway i still need an editor like Wavelab Elements 7 to convert the WAV files to 16-bit (could be done with batch conversion) and editing the saarting points and lopp in some cases.

Would it be possible to include a 16-bit export in the v1.0?

Yeah, that's one of the last things that will be added prior to the V1 release. We'll probably have a few options for that :)
