Thanks made me feel like an idiot :( lol

A quick demo. Two synth lines (Rapture) and two percussion loops (de la Mancha Slix), each one having its own The Drop instance. LFO modulation for both Spacing and Offset parameters, slow Resonance and Cutoff automation, in a couple of points one filter enters in auto-oscillation. Some compression on the master bus with The Glue.

Is anyone else's CPU getting its ass kicked when using oversampling? I'm running 2.6 i7 quad core and most of my sessions can't run more than 1 instance at 96k. Anything higher than that leads to serious clicking and popping. My buffer is also set at 512 in Logic.

Why on earth would you like oversample at 96k for realtime use? Oversample is mostly for 44.1/48k and for rendering.

I see theres mention on your site to pay for the beta, is this the case?

And youre suprised lol !

Try running FXpansion Etch under the same conditions.
I have a similar machine with an RME multiface

Are you at a base rate of 96 kHz and then oversampling up to a higher rate? I've got a 2.8n GHz Quad Xeon here and the limit I have is running Logic at 128 samples latency 96 kHz and oversampling The Drop to 192 kHz (x4 a base rate of 48 kHz) with a 4 pole stereo high pass and 4 pole stereo low pass. For realtime use if you are already at a base rate of 96 kHz you shouldn't need to go any higher as you'll get a very good representation of the sound and tone, just set the Render option to x8 and freeze the track for the final mixing stages.

Hi Andy. I'm actually at 44.1 kHz already. I guess I just have too much going on in my sessions or something. It just gave the option for realtime oversampling so I decided to try it. It's not a life-and-death situation. Thanks for replying though. :)

just giving the thread a little bit of love! I can play with the Drop for hours just on one loop and find so many different tones, im just so happy this thing is out, i used to have problems(nasty digital distortion) with other filters on a lot of material especially between the 500hz to 1000khz range but this sweeps through it with eaaase and oooze lol i love it! thank you Andy!
I love music but more than that, I love making it

yeah I have also always loved 500hz to 1000000Hz sweeps..
(sorry couldn't resist) :D

Am I the only person in the world who still thinks "beta" means "feature complete?" :hihi:

Hi Andy,

Will there be a chance to purchase The Drop whilst it's still in beta? I'm already using it in a number of productions - silly of me I know, seeing as it's still in beta! I'm aware that you're due to release a a new beta with an extended 2 week trial period but I'd hate to be in a situation where I'm unable to use it anymore because the trial period has expired.

Other than the the reported bugs that are mentioned on the download page I've found The Drop to be rock solid (hence why I'm using it on commercial productions).

Thanks in advance,

JM

I am using a Core 2 Quad at 3.2ghz, 48khz, one instance per mixer track (thread) without oversampling is all it can handle. If I turn up oversampling to 2x, I get clicking.
