Many people just seem to think Ableton should be offering similar upgrade for Live8 Suite -> Live9 Suite which would be cheaper than if you upgrade from Live8 (non-suite).

I'm not impressed either - I have 8 Suite and M4L and my upgrade is 199 Euro

Bought these within the last year. I checked the upgrade matrix from ver 7 when I bought 8 and the suite to suite was about 70 Euro IIRC

This seems unfair as I was assuming the 8 to 9 suite upgrade would be about the same - not 249 Euro - with a token 50 off for having bought M4L (for about 150)

They had a 4 way upgrade matrix for 7 to 8

They should bring this back for 8 to 9 - and the suite to suite for M4L owners shouldn't be higher than 150 - really it should be around 100

Yup. I didnt buy the boxed version with EIC2, or the orchestral instruments, because I saw no point in paying for something i wouldnt use. I did pay for Max4Live, and the Suite, because that's the stuff I would use.

Now it looks like I have to pay extra, just so I can keep stuff I already have, and the extra cost is for the stuff I didnt want, which is no longer optional.

i didn't see any info on whether it's 64bit or not? i looked through this thread and the live9 announcement page at ableton but couldn't find that info anywhere????

its going to be 32bit and 64bit, but there's no bridge of any kind. the FAQs will give you more detail.

The prices Im seeing are still exactly the same.
199 EUR from Suite8+M4L -> Suite 9
129 EUR from Suite8+M4L-> 9 Standard

If it has a full version of The Glue, I suppose that is saving me 100 $ -as I have been thinking about getting it for a while and was going to get the bundle with The Drop. But it will be native to Live so couldn't use it outside..

This is getting confusing - and depressing! - when it should be time to celebrate a new arrival..

But does their version of the glue oversample? I expect it does, but it makes a difference.

I have called with the support in Berlin :

The support say that the Boxed and Download Version of Live 9 would be the same GB of sounds. That is also a new feature of the 9

These are I believe the correct prices, it was the live 8 standard to live 8 suit with free upgrade to suit 9 price that was originally shown too low I believe making everyone think the suit 8 to suit 9 price was too high.....
