Thanks for confirming the forum is still up, got a bit confused with all the NEW 9 & NEW Push Hardwear, NEW Website, Alright Alright, Which one should I do first kind a thing !!. Arghhh. Good news though. As you rightly say though, where dual screen or undock screen support went, one can only assume, somewhere along the line it may become a feature, nice to know, that Ableton is still pushing forward and gving support with their products, I was getting a little worried and I tend to have quite a lot of faith in these matters..Pheeew.

I just upgraded from 8 to Suite but don't see any reference to 9 Suite in my account. Anyone else see a reference to 9 yet?
(had been thinking of either Suite or M4L anyway).

Oh well - I suppose it's not too bad - just taking a hit on M4L - they should be taking 100 off for existing M4L owners not 50 as it cost about 150-200 Euro

But you win some and you lose some..get a few bargains, take a few hits..

Now have they fixed the PDC problem...

I checked again and it no longer says I have Suite 9, seems like there was a bug. Dammit.

I sent a support ticket to them about the situation yesterday though. Will report back when I get a response.

So when I move to 9 none of the extras in my account will be good to use with the next version. So $234 (USD for suite8 w/m4l > suite9 w/m4l) is not an upgrade cost at all, that's a per version cost. Seems like a strong argument for not investing in Ableton's built-in instruments if they are only licensed per version.

And the icing on the cake is that those who have invested the least (amount of money) in this elongated beta test get the smallest entry fee into the next round of beta testing. I can't see myself paying more to get the same item.

You know, I like what I see (especially Push) but I'm not so sure I'm going to be an early adopter on this one if that is the best offer they can make me.

Is there anyone in this thread who bought a new copy of Live after today's announcement? If so, could you please check your account page to see if there's any indication of a free Live 9 upgrade? I'd really like to figure out if I have to give Ableton another $300 after buying Live 8 literally a day before the Live 9 leak

I'm assuming so - I think it will now match Max 6

If it doesn't, I don't see how they can justify forcing you to buy it twice (less 50 Eur) as it is now bundled with Suite 9

Should still be at least 100 off - even with an upgrade involved

Ableton being a bit mean there..

I sent them a message questioning the warped pricing to upgrade from Suite 8 to 9.

Anyone that has issues with their upgrade pricing for Suite8/Suite8 + M4L should probably shoot them an email. Thats the best way to sort this out.

They've addressed the suite pricing issue with a sticky on their forums:

Existing Suite 8 owners will be offered an exclusive introductory discount on upgrades to Live 9 Suite, to be made available upon release. This introductory discount is not yet shown on the website, as Live 9 Suite is not yet available. We apologize for any confusion or frustration from our oversight in not making this discount clear on ableton.com, and ask for your patience as we iron out the kinks in our new site.

Me neither but it definitely said upgrade and get 9 suite free when it's out so they had better stand by that.
