That's a nice video!

Somehow I wouldn't like to play melodies and chords on such small pads.
I prefer a keyboard controller for that. (I know it's designed wirh Ableton's Session View in mind and probably it's perfect for launching clips, browsing samples/sounds and making quick adjustments/settings like swing and quantization).

I don't get it.

Where are the volume faders?

Sure it looks good, but I cant see one thing it would give me over the APC40.
(Personally anyway).

Just looks like a fancy Launchpad

:-o

I guess if your only launching clips there are enough solutions already, but adding velocity an pressure makes it clip launcher + MPC + Drum machine

It looks (from the clips) like you could 'press' to launch a clip, then press-harder to add effects like a filter to the clip by varying degrees based on pressure....

I guess the big touch strip couild be used for A-B as well as pich bend, flam etc.

Some of the features seems rather familiar to NativeKontrol's LPC...

Maybe I should say... Congrats Stray..

The idea of working on little clips and sticking them together appeals, since presumably you focus more on those individual clips this way.
I'm currently using Live v.7, and I am definitely putting some 'other things' (like 'socks'/'food'... the usual) aside and going to "upgrade" to a FREE v.9 Suite via v.8 Suite @ $224.00 (US) which includes Max 4 Live  which is otherwise nearly $150.00 alone.

I think I have 'peaked' at the thing that isn't "session view" maybe three times total since I moved to Live v.4, as my main interest/use of Live has always been launching clips, re-sampling/mangling (w/Sampler), and re-mixing/mash-ups.

To that end, check out Live's "follow-actions" :D :

part-2

My post from the other Live-9 thread:

Even though Push looks awesome in every way I've seen thus far, I intend to make one of these before Live-9 comes out.

That Max 4 Live comes with Live-9 Suite is a real plus, as many amazing "tools" are written for various controllers, and I am hoping/assuming that some of the features of Push will migrate to teh APC line.

I want one too! I wonder how something like this would work with Push when all used together? However I don't think it would be really needed since it looks like push does everything that the APC40 does apart from having faders.
