Did you know that folk with Suite 8 and not Max4Live have been able to upgrade to the 'boxed' Suite for $97 (about 75EU) since the announcement and now get the Live 9 suite free, but that those of us with Suite8 and Max4Live dont even get that option?

Did you know that folk with Suite 8 and not Max4Live have been able to upgrade to the 'boxed' Suite for $120 (about 90EU) sicne the announcement and now get the Live 9 suite free, but that those of us with Suite8 and Max4Live dont even get that option?
Wasn't the Suite8 -> Suite8 Boxed -> Suite9 freebie subsequently pulled from the website? Thought I recalled this being the case from a previous poster.

The only thing that is clear is this is a complete shambles. Hence why i'm trying to ignore the various pricing structures for a couple of days. I'm hoping they're currently working on this and will post some amendments up shortly.
I have no evidence for this, just faith (albeit blind) they will do the right thing for everybody once it's sorted. Why it wasn't done properly in the first place is anybody's guess - perhaps they were just too excited by the launch - not that it's an excuse.

I think the leaked video last weekend perhaps forced them to rush forward their formal announcement and website launch. Clearly there are some issues with the website that aren't yet complete (e.g. the forum) and their pricing is also a work-in-progress. Don't panic though folks ... I'm sure with a little patience it will all soon be clear.

ive no way of telling that, im afraid.

yup. and for me, 'its a shambles, but we'll leave the shambles visibly in place just now, and just say we'll sort pricing out for you best customers when the product comes out in March next year' doesnt inspire.

Understandably, but let me remind you that you dont need to worry about it for >3mths ;)

live8 + M4L owners:

live8+ max for live> suite8 to suite9 : 59 euros

suite8 + M4L owners:

suite8 to suite9 : 199 euros
as a Suite8 owner I'm annoyed by this pricing too,
but maybe they just mixed up the prices,
and it should be:

live8 + M4L owners:

live8+ max for live> suite8 to suite9 : 199 euros

suite8 + M4L owners:

suite8 to suite9 : 59 euros

maybe ???

and I don't understand,
why a suite8 owner without M4L
needs to upgrade including M4L,
for 249,- €

or 129 € for the standard, but then all the Suite8 instruments won't work anymore?

So what's about suite9 without M4L?

I bought and payed for the instruments in Suite8,
and now I should pay for a downgrading update? :nutter:
sound is vibration, vibration is life

Actually if you have already bought Suite 8 boxed and M4L you are getting a 4 way shafting:

1 Upgrade price 199 not 99euro
2 Max bundled free - only offered 50 against 200 cost
3 Boxed additional instruments now bundled free - no offset against cost
4 Suite 8 effectively free upgrade for live 8 users - no offset against cost

So we stand aside while those who paid at least 300 euros LESS than us originally can get everything we paid AND a free upgrade to Suite 9 for less than 100, while we have to pay 200?

Basically costing us 400 euros on the deal!!

But again, I don't begrudge any of that so long as I can at least get the same upgrade price as them - 59 euro for max owners

Anything else is completely unfair

Havent checked detailed info about new Live, maybe smb knows here so..

Is it possible to edit multiple clip envelopes at the same time? I mean, not to select needed envelope from menu.. ?

It would be awesome to have 3-5 of them one by one to have the whole modulation picture at a glance.

Something tells me that this feature is still absent (
you can't stop what can't be stopped

no, i get to worry for >3 months. :grrrr:

okay, ive now seen one other post relevant in the ableton forum, from someone at ableton.

the 'standard' version of 9 wont disable stuff you already have. so if you have suite 8, then go to standard 9, you get to keep your existing instruments etc.

but you dont get the new suite 9 content. now for me that's predominantly EIC2 (didnt want it hence not getting suite boxed), and the orchestral stuff (dont need it). and the grey area of Max4Live.

I own that, so what do I get? The full version of Max6 for Live, with devices? Or does it mean I keep my old MAX5 version, and I dont get the new M4L devices? Max4Live. Like I said Max6 works now in Live8, because I have the full version, so that's a confusion so what parts of the new Max4Live are 'new conten't?

If I 'keep' MAX6 integration, but dont get the new-to-9 devices, I lose the convolution reverb and some stuff you could easily replicate from stuff in the user library? But dont need to pay for 40Gb of sample content I dont want?

Questions, too many, I have. >3months answers to get, good not.

You think they're going to beat 59EUR? I dont.
I do agree with muLperi.
I suspect the whole thing is completely screwed, and will be revised.
I also recommend anybody who likes their current pricing proposal to take advantage of it ASAP before it's amended upward.
Exactly

Can someone point me to the v6 to 9 upgrade path / price ?

If you have an account at Ableton and your copy is registered you only need to login and check the webshop.

Yes indeed! Anyone with Live 8 plain without Max upgrade now..

For 100 euros you will get what cost me/ will cost me over 500!

- 200 max, 100+ suite 8 boxed above live 8 and the current "best offer" of suite 8 to suite 9 of 200 euros

Ableton have got their prices in a complete mess - should be reversed. At present it costs a lot less to upgrade from a much lower ownership level.

You would think that in three years they could have planned a fair upgrade policy
